CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH. DO NOT, AND I MEAN, DO NOT BELIEVE THE QUOTES!! A BUNCH OF LIARS!!!! I called California Car Sounds on National Blvd in Los Angeles, 90034 for an installation quote and I completely disclosed I had a hybrid Prius with a "Start" button (and not a key ignition). I booked an appointment, but later cancelled because I got a cheaper price somewhere else. Upon canceling, they offered ... view morea deal, where they would deduct half of the installation from their competitor. I cancelled that appointment and agreed to go AGAIN at California Car Sounds. I arrived and was getting everything started (paperwork, payment, etc), but then they later said that my PARTICULAR year of my Prius was "extra". That this particular year was "different" and had to have installed with an additional apparatus, even though i had told them I had an `07 Toyota Prius on the phone when i had first tried to book them! I told them I felt like they lied to me to tried to get me back there after my initial cancel. Then they had the audacity to ask "What are you willing to pay?" At that point, I went hysterical and just storm out (after ripping the paperwork I had started). It was a complete waste of time and then i had to rebooked the appointment with the other business I was going to go in the first place. A complete lost of 3 days. Never again. I would *never* recommend California Car sounds, not even for a simple car wash. Complete liars and manipulators. Google search them - similar rip off reviews all over the internet - Yelp, Google, etc.

This place is a rip off. I filed a claim against them at the Bureau of Automotive repair Case # 2011012028. If you get anything done there and it get screwed up with it will you were warned. The Guy Steve who work there and tell you he is the owner is not. He is a idiot and thats being kind.

DON""T GO THERE

This is the worst place ever. Had to go the ""Soundman"" to get my car fixed. Filed a complaint with Bureau of automotive repair case # 2011012028 in case you need proof. I was told the wiring looked like it was done by a 5 year old. Steve is an idiot.

Worst Job Ever Done

I came here to get Automatic door lock and an alarm installed on my car. I already had the motor and the alarm so I just wanted them to install it. Steve the main guy that works went off about how the motors I bought werent good and that he would install German made motors. So I agreed and I paid more for him to install his own motors and alram. In less than a year the motor on my my left side passanger door jamm... view moreed 3x. The third time it jammed so badly I couldnt even lock my door and he refused to fix it despite his promise of a ten year warranty. He wanted to charge me $75 for a new motor. I went home and I fixed it myself. I found out that the motor was just jammed again and that the motors he used were exactly like the ones I had and they were not German made. This guy is a big liar who acts like he knows a lot but he doesn`t. So if you like your car and you dont want him to mess it up go somewhere else.

Best Car Audio shop in town

These guys are quick, affordable and razor sharp on product knowledge. I had a full system installed (3 amps; 1 subwoofer; 1 head unit). TOTAL RIP OFF! Avoid at all costs!

I came here with the highest expectations from Yelp, but let me warn you I GOT RIPPED OFF. I came in looking to get a ipod kit from my car. I specifically asked for the ""DICE BMW iPod / iPhone Integration Kit for 3 Series/M3 99-06 (E46) - SILVERLINE Pro"" for $169.99. After going back and forth for a few days they said they would get it in for me. I was quoted around $240 or so, sounds great. When I got there,... view more they quickly and promptly installed it and showed me it worked before running the wires. ""Great!"" I thought. I sat in the waiting room and the owner Steve comes up to me and tells me that I need a special interface cable because the one in my car isn`t compatible. I`ll trust the guy I thought.. He charged me an extra $40 or so for the cable. When the installation was finished I signed off, paid and was on my way.. Stupid of me not to check because I found it, it cost me $381.93!!!!! I did my research, called the creators of the kit and got a email in writing that their are no extra interface cables ever needed for the kit for my car/model. I got charged $45 for a bogus cable, he installed a USED Silverline Kit, and even taking it at face value I got charged $200 for a 1 hour installation. It`s a very simple installation, I didn`t have the tools but I figured I`ll just pay someone, big mistake. To top that off, they accidentally charged my credit card twice, they did fix that and I believe that was a earnest mistake. But they will lie to your face and charge you and arm and a leg. Beware, I will not recommend this place to anyone.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. These guys completely ripped me off. My car stereo was broken, so I took it there. Over $200 later they said it was fixed, but it wasn`t, so I kept taking it back. Then they said they`d have to send my unit out to a specialist. I was told by two different employees that it wouldn`t cost anything extra. Then they held my car hostage, wouldn`t let me pay by credit card even though they have a sign right there on the counter saying they do and when I asked why he wouldn`t accept it he said ""I don`t give a sh*t what you think."" IF YOU LOVE YOUR CAR, DO NOT PUT IT IN THESE GUYS` HANDS. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM ZERO STARS BUT IT REQUIRED ME TO PUT AT LEAST ONE.
