Reviews:
I`ve come to Phil with my last two cars, and the service is unbeatable! It is easy to trust a family-owned company with such a long community history. Pacific Tire Outlet is where I still get my car work done - and I now live in Los Angeles!
Make sure you get there early - they`re more popular than ever. A friendly face to come home to whenever I am in the Bay Area, my guys at Pacific Tire Outlet will get it done!

Really good service; terrible `bedside manner`
The owner, Phil is really busy and really knows his stuff. Yes, he can talk down to folks. But we have been going back to him for years because he has great service and his team always does a good job. That`s why it is always so very busy at Pacific Tire Outlet.

TERRIBLE - bad service, talk down to women
Every time I`ve been in there I get talked down to. Even with valid concerns about my vehicle- same crap.
They put the wrong grade tires on my car, even though the specifications from the manufacturer state what is acceptable, they put something lower on it. I don`t skimp when it comes to quality on my vehicle, so I would have paid more for the right tires. Here`s the clincher- they didn`t tell me they did it! ... view moreThe tires are crap, I`ve noticed a huge difference between these tires and the ones I bought from Costco and Discount Tire. I`m having to replace 2 of them after only 2 years and proper rotation. The only reason I know the wrong tires are on the car is because the place I took them to for replacements told me its the wrong grade.
Take your business elsewhere. It`s worth it.

Excellent but be aware
At first, I was very skeptical about any tire company that isn`t a franchise but PTO proved me wrong. When I approached the manager Phil Sweat, he squeezed me in for an oil change even though they were about to close. Now THAT is good service! 5/5
Needless to say, I came back the second time for an oil change. They quoted, ""will be done in one hour"" in which they took my car in after 10 minutes. Btw, they ro... view moretate your tires for free in any type of service but you need to ask. Another 5/5
They recommended me to change tires because they were balding. (I knew that) so what they suggested were Primera tires and Uniroyal if I want cheap touring tires.
Note: Tires have the same concept as everything else, ""What you pay is what you get, now that doesn`t necessary mean the more you pay, the better you get, since sizes vary the price too, but you get what I mean.""
They will sound like they`re trying to rip you off and sell you some, ""junk"" tires but remember, YOU`RE in control. Don`t feel like you have to buy what they want you to buy.
I ended up getting 4 Primera tires instead (279), since they were cheaper than Uniroyal(319).
Long story short, you`ll either like Phil or you really don`t. He can be your enemy if you`re sensitive to body gestures cause he can seem like someone who is impatient since he`s busy left and right so my suggestion is, if you don`t like them, go to somewhere else. I`ve compared the prices and there is no comparison because PTO sells mainly tires others don`t carry.
Today I went in Wheel Works and ask what they could give me and for the cheapest ones, it`s Primewall, with a warrenty of 40K miles and 4 for 312 with tax. The next step up are Falken with 65K mi warrenty (which are excellent tires) for 377. There was no comparison. Now I just hope the Primera tires will last 60,000 miles like they promised to. (Oh, the Primera tires are noisy once they reach 70+mph so I wouldn`t recommend it for fast freeway driving)

Could use better customer service
I have been going to Pacific Tire Outlet for years - often on a Saturday morning. The line usually starts early AM. They have decent prices on tires. Last year I brought in my Audi for service. I came back an hour later and this was after handing over my key earlier. As I approached the front desk to inquire about my vehicle, the manager behind it, without me saying anything, says "Back off now". I understand that pe... view moreople get busy, but that was just uncalled for. And I said "Okay", and raised my arms.
