A man who goes by the alias "Z...
A man who goes by the alias "Zack" sold me a 2006 Scion XA on May 12, 2012. On the DUE BILL it was promised that they repair my Air Conditioning. The following weekend (5/19/12) I took the car in to them for repair. They took 10 hours to call me over and showed me that they were unable to fix the problem on the high and low pressure line. Zack showed me how the mechanic tried to SOLDER the high pressure AC ... view moreline and told me that when he tried to turn the AC on the lines blew up in his face. The next visit was May 28, 2012 and I left my car with them for 3 days. They let me borrow a vehicle that had less than 10 lbs of pressure in each tire and with the check engine light on even though they knew I had to do some serious travelling. Upon my third trip (I live in Fresno and have been commuting up to them in Modesto) they were unsuccessful in fixing it again on May 28, 2012. The last trip I took out there on June 7, 2012, Zack left me with the mechanic and the mechanic told me that he cleaned out the clogged lines (which were supposed to be BRAND NEW) and that the compressor would most likely go out soon and I would need to replace it myself!!!!! Zack told me after much debate that they would order the compressor on June 8, 2012. He called me on June 13, 2012 to tell me the part was not in yet and it would be in the next couple days and that HE would call ME. JULY 6, 2012 still no call so when my boyfriend called Zack said the part came in 3 weeks ago and the Mechanic was supposed to call. After many calls back to Zack due to him giving us fake phone numbers for his Fresno mechanic he was sending me to he promised to have the AC fixed on 7/12/12. Numerous times when trying to call Zack claimed to not be there or he would hang up on us.
After taking the car in for it`s first routine oil change on July 2, 2012 the mechanic called my boyfriend out to the shop to show him that the entire underside of my car is RUSTED and breaking apart!!!! This was not on the Carfax nor did Zack tell me about this serious SAFETY problem! There was a reported accident that Zack explained as no frame damage and just a small fender bender with a guard rail. There was faulty auto body work found where the REAR bumper is supposed to bolt to the frame.
In regards to the AC, the oil change tech also discovered that the air filter for the AC was COMPLETELY MISSING!!! How can you "fix" and AC if you aren`t even competent enough to know that the FILTER was missing!??
I have been scammed by this dealer/mechanic and I will do anything to make sure justice is served!
I checked Google for reviews and i`m not the only one who has been a victim of FRAUD by these people!
I paid up front in cash... 10K out the window. Biggest mistake of my life!

If I could give them a negativ...
If I could give them a negative star I would. My fiance and her mom tried to get a 2011 Chevy Aveo from them. It looked great Fiance even turned it on checked it out. But after signing the papers and driving away me and my fiance noticed differences in the car. There were already problems with the car (air bag sensors for driver and passanger, rear windows not going down, low tire pressure light on, and light on odom... view moreeters not working). My Fiance called and they told her they had the same car just the A/C was getting fixed. Apparently they had switched the car my Fiance checked out with this broken car. After 4 days of calling to see if the other Aveo with the A/C being fixed was done, they told my Fiance and her mom that they could not get financed. They made us go in circles just to end up with no car. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM!!!! Buying a car is the most awful experience, buying with OWN A Car is WORSE.

Looks like there have been 6...
Looks like there have been 61 people see this. That?ˆ™s an awful lot of unhappy people. This dealership is awful. They have stolen $2000 of my money. I have asked repeatedly that these guys do the right thing. They have repeatedly ignored my requests by both email and phone. The responses to these requests have been to blatantly ignore them, hang up on me and tell me not to call (Larry and Cynthia), or tell me to get... view more the ?ˆ?f...k out of the store. I told these guys that I was not going to let this be and allow them to steal my money. This is now my fourth request to them that they refund my money immediately. Beware of Larry, Cynthia, and Zac. They are all part of the scam. So many people have been scammed by them. I met with a DMV investigator today and he said there are several victims. Do not by a car from this place or you will lose your money!!!! Go to scammedbyownacar.com

Horrible service!
In the beggining Own A Car seemed to a good place to shop. They were friendly but catchy. Then again they are sales men. Well it turned out they didn`t know how to put my contract together but didn`t mention anything and let me drive the car out the lot the same day. I thought everything was done and good to go. Three days later I get a call saying they can lower my payments so I drove back 160miles back to the deale... view morership. Turns out tha was a LIE! They took me to a totaly different dealership to sign a contract with them because they didn`t know how to do it!! I had patience and waited..mind you this was the SECOND CONTRACT that I signed after of course after we discarded the first one. Well I left and 5mins later they called and said "come back It turns out I can fix your car remote." Because they did sell me a car with a broken alarm. Well I went back and it turns out again that was LIE! They wanted me to sign a THIRD CONTRACT! And it seemed way to fishy after that so I asked them to give me a good reason why I needed to sign a third one and they said that it was for1.) For their inventory use then after contuing the conversation they said 2.) Its for our taxes. Now they had 3 carbon copies of the contact WHY did I need to sign it again. It was absolutely ridiculous!!! I was done confiding in them. One of the sales men yelled "if you don`t sign it then leave without a car!" But the second contract was already approved and valid! They wanted me to sign it (3rd contract) because they wanted to get their commison and were still goign to send it to the bank a second time. It made noo sense. Finally I started taking everything out the car and the actual owner comes out and starts yelling at me asking me why didn`t I sign it. Then I said again" give me a good reason why I should because it makes no sense that I already signed one and it was already approved but your processing this one again." The owner responds 3.)"Because we didn`t know we had this bank!" Haha Now aren`t they suppose to be professional`s. They didn`t stop mentioning they were in the business for 18yrs...shouldn`t they know this?!? I ended up leaving the car and having to resort on public transportation. They didn`t stop calling our cell saying "Fine you don`t need to sign anything anymore just take the car." IT MADE NO SENSE AND IT WAS SO POINTLESS. THIS WAS BY FAR THEE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I RECEIVED. Sad to say I did have a chance to take the car back but just the thought of having delt with that made me sick! I speent 5hrs there that day and left with no car!
