One of the best auto repair sh...

One of the best auto repair shops in the area, in my humble opinion. Tom is not your average mechanic. You might notice (if it`s still there) that he`s got a nice old Porsche at the shop that`s being built up. He was willing to do work on my project car in the past (few mechanics want to deal with it when it comes to debugging problems as it`s my project) and has serviced other cars my family owns. I`ve never b... view moreeen disappointed with his work and he does it right and in a timely manner. I used to have a shop I`d recommend to all my friends (Maseba Automotive) but the guy who ran it has retired. Now when people ask me for a good auto repair place, I point them to Tom`s. As someone who works on vehicles himself for fun, I get the feeling from Tom that he knows what he`s doing and enjoys his work. These are the signs one should look for in a great mechanic.

Dishonest place to do business with

I brought my car here fo CATALYTIC replacement and was replaced by an illegal aftermarket catalytic converter. I was charge full price for OEM CAT. I didn`t know until my car was failed smog at Sunnyvale place close to his shop. The Smog Tech pin point that Tom`s auto repair replaced an illegal aftermarket catalytic converter on my car and that is why I failed smog test. I came back to complaint and TOm`s auto repair... view more denied his work I had to show him all my car service paperwork done by him. But he insisted that it was not his fault I told him that I will complain this matter to BAR. He then agreed to replace the OEM part for me, but I have to pay for the labor charge. I am surely not go back to Tom`s repair for any further service eventhough I had him to take care all my family cars for last 5 years. I don`t know how many time he cheated me in the past 5 years but I recall that I spent a lot of money to repair my cars at his shop. Good customer service, friendly guy, and good prices

I`ve been taking my car to Tom`s Auto Repair (Honda Passport) for 4-5 years, and he`s treated me well. Tom is very friendly, fixes the problems really quickly (rarely takes more than 1 day for any big job), and charges much less than the dealerships. I don`t know if he charges less than other mechanics, but for the service, honesty, and reliability, I always go to him.
