He replaced the muffler and tail pipe that someone pieced together on my Ranger. He carefuly formed the pipe and put in several good strong supports. This is a good quality job. He also replaced the rear brakes and took the time to explain to me why the old one were sticking, and why they had worn unevenly. It would have been a perfect opportunity for him to sell me new brake drums, but he was able to machine them, s... view moreaving me money. Great Price, Car-Loving Mechanics
Ignore that other rating! This place is great!
Appalled by the dealership that made me wait over the 5 hours in order to get quoted $600 for a front brake pad and rotor replacement (parts and labor), I took my car to La Mesa Mufflers & Brakes. The gentlemen mechanics there took 10 minutes to turn around a $250 quote for everything. Less than one hour later, the work was done and the car was back in my han... view moreds.
From the moment that I walked in, I could tell that my car would be well-taken care of (I know, the grammar sucks). The lobby had car-part sculptures, model cars everywhere, car-part cut-outs, and display parts hanging from the ceiling. The man in charge was in the middle of bidding in an online auction for a used car that he wanted to restore. Several project cars were laying about the parking area. There was no doubt that these guys (who have over 30 years of experience each) are in the car-fixing business because they love cars! Take your car nowhere else!

Rework, rework and more rework
