RUN AWAY!!! I have a 2006 ...

RUN AWAY!!! I have a 2006 Toyota Matrix and I was referred here by a mechanic at Jiffy Lube. Not the best endorsement I admit, but after looking at the Yelp reviews and the fact that it was super close to my house, I took a chance. I knew I needed my back brakes "done"....I had stupidly driven about 9 miles with my emergency brake on and the subsequent squeaking noise made it pretty obvious something... view more was amiss. I spoke to Gary who had one of the guys put my car on the rack. All I told them was to please check the brakes. After about 20 minutes he came back and told me my rear brakes needed replacing for $285 and the front had only 20% or less and that would be $245 for new pads and rotaring the drums. So over $500....though he did say he would do both for $450 if I paid cash. Classy. This sounded high to me, very high, so I asked for a minute to call my "boyfriend" and instead called the Toyota dealership on Hollywood. I spoke to the service Manager and he told me, first, it`s very rare to need both, and second, they were offering a special of $165. I politely asked for my car back, the guy was pissed (sorry, I can`t remember his name) and tried to convince me that his price was perfect and that the quality would be better than Toyota. Huh? I made an appt. for the next day at Toyota, after a brief inspection Oscar told me that my BRAKES WERE FINE! At least 50% available on the front and even more on the back. All I needed was an adjustment on the rear brakes, and for the burnt brake fluid to be flushed and replaced. For a fraction of the price, no more squeaking and I don`t need new pads on the front for a minimum of 6-9 months and the back for probably longer. Liars and thieves.

I was referred to Hobart by my boss. I bought tires from them on Saturday and I`m a very satisfied customer. Not only are they reasonably priced, fast and efficient, they are courteous and compassionate too.
