Courtious and Detailed

I have been to Quality Tune Up, on McKee Rd., several times. They are always so friendly and get my vehicle in and out quickly with attention to detail. In fact, while they were changing my oil, one of their mechanics noticed my axel was crakced. I`d hate to think what could have happened if they were not so thourough. I visit them religiously for my vehicle tune-ups and repairs.

Avoid Quality Tune Up on McKee Rd!! My car had low engine compression and would not start. I had my car towed to Quality Tune up on McKee Rd because it was conveniently located 2 miles from my house. The car was dropped off ~ 9:00am on a Saturday morning to have a complete diagnostics done on the car to determine the problem. I was told that I would receive a call before noon with cost for the repair. At about... view more 3:30pm I had not received any calls from Quality. Concerned about the time, I attempted to call 5 times between 3:30 and 4:30 but nobody picked up the phone. I finally had my wife drive me there to find out what was going on with my car. The car was in the same spot when I dropped off in the morning. The engine cover was removed with the valves exposed. When I asked the guy in charge for the status of my car, he rudely replied in a loud tone that my car?ˆ™s #3 valve was damaged and would require heads to be machined and other extensive repairs. They will need to keep the car for 1.5 weeks with est cost of $1500!! I told him I was not in a position to approve the repair and asked him to put my car back to together so that I can have my vehicle towed back to my house. I was going to find a more professional and reputable repair shop to do such major repair that these guys were claiming. The guy told me they are getting ready to close and to come back tomorrow, that is when my car would be ready for tow. When I had called on Sunday to find out what time I should have the tow truck driver come pick up the car, they guy yells at me over the phone telling me they do not have enough mechanic?ˆ™s to work on my car so it would not be ready until the following Tuesday?ˆ¦ other cars were priority over mine. I was traveling on business on Monday and I could no longer trust leaving my car with these idiots. So, I decided to have my car towed anyway and called AAA to have their tow service tow my car in its condition to one of their referred repair centers. The tow truck driver towing my car to ?ˆ?ProStar?ˆ? in Milpitas. I was immediately impressed by the size and cleanliness of their shop and the professional customer service I was greeted with. I was met by the owner of ProStar who I had explained my situation. He said that they would need to perform their own diagnostic starting with an engine compression test. I received a call that afternoon from the owner informing me the exact cause of why my car was not starting. Apparently on of the sensors had cause fuel to flood my spark plug which would have caused a drop in engine compression. They did check the valves which were all within spec. The total repair cost was 1 hr labor (including diagnostics), a set of new spark plugs minus AAA 10% discount. In addition they adjusted my brakes which was noticeably improved free of charge! Not only would I be out $1500, but the irreversible damage the dummies at Quality Tune-Up, McKee Rd would have caused was unimaginable. Way to go ProStar!!
