Reviews:
""reputable"" Muffler Shop and came up with Leo`s Muffler
Shop in San Jose, CA.
I am from Fremont, CA so I called this shop on Thursday, 3/1/2012 and talked to Steve on the phone.
He quoted me $250 for the Catalytic Converter installed.
I work Monday to Friday, so the work has to be done on ... view moreSaturday. Steve asked for $100 deposit so he could get
the part for Saturday, 3/3/2012. I went to the shop the
following day, Friday 3/2/2012 to deposit $100 cash.
When I got to the shop, I met and talked to Steve and he told me that it would be $350 since my truck is OBD2. He said he will give me a discount if I paid in cash. He asked for the $100 cash deposit, and made me write my name and phone# on a piece of paper, and write ""deposit"" $100, and ""balance"" $225. The next day, Saturday, 3/3/2012, I went back to the shop. There was no part, so he just welded a rusty pipe so my truck will not be noisy. He then asked for more deposit which I refused. He then said that my part will be ready on Monday, 3/5/2012. I told him that I will go on a trip and will not be back until Tuesday, 3/6/2012. I went back to the shop yesterday, 3/6/2012 hoping to get the job done.
But I was disappointed that there was no part. Steve then proceeded to ask me for more cash, so he could buy my part. I refused because I already deposited $100 which he used for something else. He gave me the excuse that ""he just paid the water bill ..."" and have no money to buy my part.
So the bottom line, I got Ripped Off, $100 and just have a rusty straight pipe welded in place of the Catalytic Converter.
I WILL NOT GO to Leo`s Muffler Shop again, and I hope no one will. This muffler shop is not reputable.
I ignored the ""clues"", and it cost me $100 cash.
The following are the ""clues"" :
1. No Receipt
2. Cash Deals only
3. Deposit for the work
4. Promises and Dates that are not met.
5. Excuses, etc.
BEWARE...I DO NOT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO EXPERIENCE THIS THINGS.
