We sell tires...and we fix cars! Everything but smog

Jeff is the president of our company. He has been in the tire and automotive service industry since 1975. He ran several retail stores for a large tire and automotive manufacturer prior to taking a job as district manager; first for that company and later for another automotive retailer. His responsibilities included supervision of over 30 company-owned locations and several hundred employees. Jeff has found that by concentrating his efforts on one location, he has even greater control over the quality of service offered to our valued clientele.

Yesterday, I took my car in to Leale`s
Yesterday, I took my car in to Leale`s to have the light on my dasboard checked out. Of course, I was hoping that it was nothing serious but needed to have it fixed even if it was! I found Mark and staff VERY accommodating, pleasant and so very helpful. They thoroughly gave my car a full inspection, which I didn`t expect, at no extra charge AND what they did find was a spider and her eggs blocking some tube connec... view moreted to the fuel and emissions that prevents poisonous fumes into the environment. I hope I explained that correctly!! Anyway, I was thoroughly impressed with their service and how Mark took his time to explain what was happening to my car. They were very honest with me, very reasonably priced and know their work; plus I can tell how passionate they feel about keeping our cars safe on the road!! I highly recommend Leale`s Auto Repair, and I KNOW I have found a new home - even for an oil change - yep! This is where I`m going from now on!! They`ve got my business and a new a loyal customer. Can you tell how happy and relieved I am?? Thank you Mark and staff - you`re the BEST! Sherri Cousart

I had my 1999 toyota towed in ...
I had my 1999 toyota towed in for their free evaluation as to why it wouldn`t go into gear. They spent some time inspecting everything and said that the transmission was worn out and that the engine was really tired as it had over 180,000 miles on it. But car looked great with excellent interior and body. I would have spent up to 2k to try and get it running again, but they advised that in my case it may be wiser to ... view moreinvest the 2k in a newer used car and sell the good parts of this car. I left their shop not paying them anything for their time, but very grateful for their honest advise and the contact info for Pick`n Pull.

I called them back to say how happy I was!
I`ve recently been to two other shops trying to get my 98` diesel truck running right. Both wanted to give it a complete and very expensive tune up and a complete rear brake job. On my last try I went to Leale`s. They said the rear brakes were fine, but just needed a spring. All the engine needed was new glow plugs and now it starts easily and runs great. Neither shop notice that my front end was in terrible conditio... view moren. I got a good price on the rebuild and after driving home that day realized how much effort I was using just keep it on the road. Now it drives like a dream.

Beware of Leales RV San Jose
On June 14, we had trouble with our Gulfstream that had a fan clutch engaging too often.
We parked near Leales at night based on the advice of a member of the Eagles who said several of their people used them.
I did find that a vacuum hose had been disconnected so when we drove the vehicle it seemed fine. No fan clutch problem.
Since we were across the street, we decided to let them check it anyway.
Then ... view morewe got Ralph (their mechanic). First we were told they had to change the thermostat because the fan clutch WAS NOT engaging. OK go ahead for $400.00.
Then after Ralph again test drove it and consulted with more senior mechanics, we were told, he needed to change the fan clutch also for now $800. OK.
Finally after 8 hours we left and the fan clutch started engaging more and more until it was intervaqls of less than two minutes. A nightmare to get back to Southern California. My mechanic here put a genuine GM fan clutch on, made adjustments and the vehicle runs fine.
I called ""Glen"", the man we had dealt with at Leales, and he told me he was the owner and would review it with his service manager and get back to me.
We returned the fan clutch to them as instructed, and to this date, nothing has happened. Now I find out Glen is not the owner (probably wishful thinking), but the supposed owner ""Dave"" in spite of promises by his service manager, has never contacted us.
We have reported this to the Bureau of Automotive Repair, and will publish our experience with these people in hopes others are forewarned.

I would definitely recommend this shop to others.
The office seemed well organized and the administrator was very kind and professional. The shop was well maintained too. I felt the cost was fair. The diagnosis and repair was competed in a timely manner. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a genuine sense of hospitality which I much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this shop to others. It`s difficult to find an auto shop you can trust. I `m h... view moreoping my search is over. I look forward to doing business with them again.

Leale`s Transmission & Auto Repair
I could no have been more pleased with the service. I brought the car to Leale`s because I have known Mark Welch for nearly 10 years and I trusted him to give me an honest evaluation of what needed to be done to my daughter`s car. He prioritized everything and allowed me to make the final decision. I cannot begin to express now grateful I am for the care that was taken to insure that my daughter`s car would be safe f... view moreor her to drive.

Stay Clear of These Guys
My vehicle needed some minor tranny work. They did not preform the job they quoted me for. After they ""so called"" worked on my transmission They were suppose to replace the pan gasket and filter kit (parts I was charged for). How do I know they did not do this? Guess where I found the brand new filter kit and Gaskets at? NOT installed on my car...IN THE TRUNK. How do you work on a transmission without changing the ... view morepan gasket and filter kit? You Don`t! They did not do the work they quoted me for. The car was never test driven, the mileage was unchanged, this is printed on the invoice,
I paid almost $600.00 they would not even return my phone calls or stand behind their work. Car was in the same shape after driving less than 400miles. This family owned business has lost another good customer due to dumbas pride. Watch out! . Big fish, small bowl. Go to Winchesters, They Stand Behind Their Work.

Avoid this shop
I`d been a Leales customer for 3+ years. Twice in the past year I`ve had to take my truck back after service to have their mechanics correct their mistakes. 1) They failed to reattach a valve hose - this caused my ""check engine"" light to turn on. 2) By their own admission they incorrectly installed a part which caused the cab of my truck to fill with gas fumes. Needless to say they`ve lost a customer.
