Brian, Maria, and the folks at Merced AAMCO are truly an amazing team! I`m a transfer student who moved to Merced for school. I was about half way through my first semester here with no personal mechanic and a very constrained budget. I first noticed a transmission problem about a month and a half ago: When I`d start driving, my transmission would jerk/kick back as I changed gears, it turns out the transmission ra... view morenge sensor on my 2000 Ford Focus was malfunctioning. Not sure where to turn, I tried calling my mechanic back home to get some advice, unfortunately he was too busy the times that I called so I had to resort to reviews and word of mouth. I decided to give Merced AAMCO a shot. I was not disappointed! The whole repair process took about a month for me, mostly due to the restrictiveness of my schedule (I was taking several classes and it was hard for me to get away from school for a day to drop my car off). After purchasing a part online in an attempt to save money, Brian graciously installed the part (I had not asked originally if they accepted customer parts). After about a day, my car started having similar problems, so I brought it back in for another look. Brian and Maria were extremely accommodating: they went out of their way to check the quality of their work, provided me with a fantastic deal that I was not expecting, and EVEN offered to give me a ride to school if I couldn`t coordinate a bus route. These guys REALLY cared about my situation as a student and I could not have been more grateful! It turned out that I had a larger electrical problem in the car, however they were able to take care of the problem and replace the faulty part I had purchased in an afternoon! They even recognized a problem which I had suspected had been going on (excessive vibration and weird idling) which my original mechanic either overlooked or could not recognize. I will be taking my car back in a few days to have them take a look at this problem. As far as I`m concerned, my experience with the Merced AAMCO crew was nothing but pleasurable and professional. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONE...

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS "BUSINESS!" AAMCO in Merced has managed to completely ruin my life. I took my car in to have the transmission rebuilt, which was the biggest mistake of my life. Since the first visit, my transmission has gone out four times in a matter of two months! The first and third times the transmission went out, AAMCO tried to blame the problem on something else, but as I... view more threatened to take my vehicle to the dealership, they finally admitted fault. I was supposed to be leaving the state to take a job for two years, but as I was leaving, the transmission went out AGAIN. We have wasted hundreds of dollars in gas and on rentals, and now, because of the incompetent and negligent staff, I am left to try to figure out what I am supposed to do. AAMCO refuses to refund my money or put a new transmission in, given their "policies." How many times must my transmission go out before it is done right?!? Had I known that I would have had all of these problems, I would have avoided AAMCO altogether. Now I am out a car and possibly a job. I will NEVER step foot into an AAMCO again, and I wil be sure to let everyone know about my experience and AAMCO`s unwillingness to assist or cooperate with me regarding this matter.

GREAT

This place exceeded my expectations! I need a new transmission for my 2001 Jeep and they gave me such a deal! I had shopped around knowing this was going to be pricey ..but a buddy shared this place with me. Saved a lot of dough and they said two weeks got it back earlier than thought! !
