DON`T GO ... I used Joby for several years but always somewhat reluctantly because of his caustic and extremely rude demeanor. I eventually bought a used Saab from him and he reneged on promises made about this car - even little ones such as programming a key free of charge because the car came with just one key - He guaranteed this 2002 9-5 to be solid performer because he personally had overhauled it. Completely incredible and trustworthy

I`m a woman so we all know that`s a negative when trying to get your car fixed. Joby made me feel comfortable and always takes time out to explain what`s going on with my car and answer any questions I have. I believe he cares about my car just as much as I do. I wholeheartedly trust JOBY because he knows what he is doing and is DIRECT and HONEST about what I need and don`t need. I LOVE my SAAB as if it were my ba... view moreby. I am so thankful my friend referred me here because I know I am getting the best care for my baby. Some other people are put off by his directness. He`s a mechanic not a therapist. If you want warm and fuzzy go elsewhere. I want someone who will take the utmost care of my car. I don`t need anything else. I am a firm believer in ""you get what you pay for"" and I know I`m getting the absolute best.

Good but obnoxious

The owner Joby is a very good mechanic, but a pita to deal with. The guy is kind of like the soup nazi, hard to feel good about doing business with him. I suppose he gets away with it because of his skills and he`s cheaper than the dealer.

Customer Service

Joby is a very good SAAB mechanic, but his bedside manner leaves alot to be disired. A person would feel very squeamish to go back to him. He will impress you with his SAAB knowledge but at the cost of your indignation. He should takes some diversity classes, because there are more great SAAB mechanics out there than he thinks.

Bad Attitude

Joby is the owner and sole mechanic at Scania Aiuto Service. The other review here is dead on. (thanks for the info on Svennsons in Lafayette). Joby is arrogant and has no personality and is rude. I spent $1600 with him for a number of things over a 2 week period, and unfortunatly, his arrogance was all I remember. Don`t waste your time here. Saab Master

My 1995 900SE Convertible (V6 engine) Saab was very sick, so I took it to Scania. And now it works great. Seriously folks, this car had a laundry list of items that needed tending to, and Joby resolved them all. He even alerted me to a MAJOR potential problem with the V6 engine (timing belt) that would`ve destroyed my engine had it not been changed. My old belt was very close to failure and had gone past the suggested replacement mileage by 100% (twice as long). Sad thing for me was that I found out Dirito Bros/Saab owed me a free one that, due to the mileage on my car, the offer had expired.

Later, I was having problems with my transmission, and Joby gave me good advice over the phone. Now, he can be tempermental sometimes, just like the Saab ""Nawtzi"" down in L.A. that still gets great reviews, but Joby knows what he`s doing and cares about his work and I`ve never had a problem with the repairs that he has done.
