Good bang for the buck!

I have been a customer at Advanced Auto for 25 years+; my work has lead me all over the country, but Advanced is the best independent garage I have ever used, and when living in the greater Sacramento area I still drive the extra distance to get to Advanced. The quality of work is as good as the dealers` service centers, but the labor prices are considerably lower. I have always appreciated the extra personal atten... view moretion given the customer, due in part to the fact that it is a family business, owned by the same family since it opened. They are not afraid to advise on what work is required and what might be considered ""optional,"" (in the interest of saving me a few bucks in these tight times). Advanced Auto stands behind their work and reviews each work order with me in advance in detail, so that I fully understand (even though I know nothing about mechanical repairs). I trust them fully and have NEVER been disappointed.

Reliable Mechanics

Advanced auto has always gone the extra mile for me. They have worked around my schedule, supplied a shuttle and a discount at the local car rental when needed, answered all of my questions, given me good advice on my car as well as advice when I decided it was time to find a new car. They have even checked up with my father, when he came in for repairs, to make sure that I was happy with my repairs and that everythi... view moreng was ok with my car. They make you feel like a friend. I have been a customer for 9 years and will continue to be so. I initially came to them because they were local and I had heard wonderful reviews from friends and family. I have since moved and still bring my car back to them. I have had nothing but great service from Advanced Auto Repair and will continue to be a loyal customer.

THE WORST EVER!!!!!

This was the absolute worst experience I`ve ever had with a mechanic in my life! Not only were the prices totally unreasonable, but the sales clerks were shady and when I questioned them about their sky-rocket prices, they were rude and condescending. They will try to justify their ridiculous mark-up on parts by their ""unbeatable warranty"" but BEWARE because, from my perspective, the one year warranty that they of... view morefered me did not compensate for the 118% mark-up that they added to the value of the part (much higher than the suggested list price). After I left their shop, I took my car to another mechanic who told me the $500 job they`d just done should have cost $250. Additionally, another job they quoted me at $400-$500, the next mechanic quoted at only $250. To top everything off, they insisted that I needed to have my electrical system checked out for transmission problems (a convenient 2 hours of labor), which was actually balony. The problem was easily diagnosed by a 5 min test drive at the next shop I went to. Overall, I rate this shop with an F-. I`ve never taken the time to review a business or product before, but after the terrible experience I had at this shop, I felt obligated to warn people.

bad repairs

First I have to say that I stopped taking my car to this place around 2001.
The repairs were not good, and they always kept my car for a while and overcharged me. Also, the sales guys were slimy. I don`t know how else to put it. I switched to Center City in Davis and have been very happy with them.
Hopefully they`ve changed since then.

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!

I recently had Advanced repair my car. THey did not take enough care in diagnosing the problem with my car, did incomplete repairs and thanks to them, my car broke down again two weeks later on Christmas day with the sane problem that I now have to pay someone else to do again.
