Unpleasant Treatment
Audio Addiction may seem like a professional and reputable place as I thought so when I first purchased my alarm system and had it installed there a year ago. However, despite the visual fa?§ade of illuminated glitz, smooth running operations and a well laid-out show room, there is a great deal of unfriendly, glib and downright deceptive practices happening there. For reference, I have had four separate issues with t... view morehe alarm installation (not alarm), each which I have had to return to the store to be repaired, prior to my most recent and now final visit there to address the alarm and this time my break lights. ? When my brake lights started failing to illuminate a month ago, I had a mechanic look for the problem. ? After investigating, he strongly felt it was the alarm system putting a short in the system and told me that the problem occurring with my car was a similar problem in other cars with aftermarket alarm installations. ? I called, scheduled an appointment at Audio Addiction and on that day showed up. Linda was there running the store and I found out she was the owner/manager, so to her I explained my predicament and the prognosis by the mechanic. She immediately without hesitation or further inquiry stated that she could only have her technician look at my car but that her alarm systems don`t cause "those" kinds of problems and that if unrelated REPAIR is needed, I would have to pay for it. ? She was also disturbingly quick to discredit and critique the mechanic who surveyed my car without knowing who he was or anything about his credentials prior to. Her words, body language and tone of voice defended their work as "never" flawed, even though the technician admitted to me directly, "sometimes I make mistakes," and she insinuated that I was ((dishonestly)) blaming the alarm installation to receive free repair for unrelated causes. ? Again, I have had four separate issues related only to "their work" and with that track record, it should be natural to assume their work was at fault once again in this instance and if the problem was found to be the alarm, then I should have it fixed free of charge. ? ?  The technician did find the problem unrelated to the alarm, which blatantly pleased Linda and she gloated her victory by further discrediting my mechanic and questioning my judgement and motive.?  At that point, her evasive and presumptuous nature screamed unprofessional and left me seething with regret for giving my business to the establishment. ?  To move on, I requested that the alarm be left disconnected so that I could take it to the Toyota dealership to fix the issue without any conflict of electrical components. The technician agreed saying that was ideal and to come back to reconnect it after my break lights were fixed. The lights were repaired and my husband brought the vehicle back to Audio Addiction where they reconnected the alarm (in about 10 minutes) but upon completion (Linda) required a $20 fee be paid for labor in disconnecting the alarm stating that I was "told" of the fee prior to working on the car the previous day. ? My husband was not aware of the falsified fee agreement and just paid the fee, but upon reviewing my recording I took of our conversation, she mentions no such thing! ? So, unless you, the customer, seek deceit, mockery, poor workmanship, and time consuming problems in your aftermarket auto accessories and their installation, I recommend taking your business elsewhere.?  Just to note, I never had any problems with any of the staff there including Linda`s brother, just when I had to deal with the repugnant owner herself.?
