BEWARE OF BEING RIPPED OFF!!!!!
I`ve going to this Goodyear dealer for a few years and thought they were fair. But I`ve since learned otherwise.
My car is almost three years old and I use it for work so I put approx. 25k miles a year.
In Jan. 09 I took it here for a routine oil change and they came back to me that the front brakes were very low and that I need new front brakes and that my rear brakes were fine. I believed them because of ... view morethe driving I do for work so I had the front brakes replaced.
In Feb. 2010 I went in for my routine oil change and was told by them that my rear brakes now needed to be replaced and I need four new tires. Again, because of work I do I did the service they recommended.
This week I went for the oil change and asked them to look into a squeaking squeal my car was doing when I was driving very slow and I told them it didn`t happen when I had the brakes on. They came back and said that I now needed ALL FOUR BRAKES and two rotors.
At first the mechanic said, ""it`s been sometime since you had them done, Jan. 2009."" I told him yes the front brakes were done then but the rear was done in Feb. this year. He started to try to prove me wrong by showing me a print out of all my services but was proven wrong when he realized that I was right. At this point he could not take back what he had said about my rear brakes.
I was very upset about it and said how could my original rear brakes last 25 months and 51k miles and the ones they supposedly replaced 8 months earlier and 16k miles (approx. 2k miles per month) be worn down already. They kept with the story with the amount of miles and the stop and go I do a lot for work. I did the same driving the first 25 months and 51k miles as I did in the last 8 months and 16k miles. The one mechanic there took it as far as to speak to me like a 5 year old and tell me how to ease on the brakes, like I didn`t know that.
At that point I realized that I had been ripped off and that my rear brakes 8 months prior were probably low and they said that they replaced them and now they were in fact worn down.
They walked me out to look at the brakes, but I honestly I didn`t know what I was suppose to be looking out. They could have shown me anything.
I had done what they said because all four tires were off and they could have replaced the brakes with some other worn down ones. I was afraid to drive away with not having done what they recommended because if I was in an accident they would have a record of me not have done what they recommended. Another almost $600!
I went to two different mechanics in the area and they agreed with me. Although the other mechanics didn`t say that this place was known for this kind of practice it was the way in which they didn`t say it by shrugging their shoulders and their body language.
So if you like to be ripped off and have money to throw away than THIS IS THE PLACE! Otherwise, go someplace else!
