Terrible deceptive service dep...
Terrible deceptive service department techniques, consumer beware! Took our 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 in for downshifting and slipping our of gear. After $200 diagnosis and minor fixes that racked up charges, they said it needed new transfer case, cost $2800. Questioned if that was necessary and they stated yes it was fried the fluid smelled burnt. Picked the truck up after 3 days in shop, drove 2 blocks, and boo... view morem, it had the same problem. Took back to dealer, they kept over weekend and Mon. said it was fixed, no charge. They replaced the PRNDL switch and it worked perfectly. So apparently the transfer case did not need replacing. Contacted dealer regarding this and their response was that if I was not satisfied, bring it in and they will put the old transfer case back on. They did not offer a discount, a loaner car, an apology, nothing. This is how they treat a customer of 30 years. Imaging all the people they deceive everyday. I should mention that they gave me all of their office copies of our papers that clearly outline the problems with the PRNDL switch but it is not an official recall and the consumer is not suppost to know about it. Never again Shellworth Chevrolet, you should be ashamed of yourself. Please repost to get the word out, drive the extra few miles to Woodard Chevrolet, they are at least honest.

Crooks!!! Beware!
Took my 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 in to Chevy because of a transmission problem. The only reason I took it to Chevy was because I had a warranty (that was going to expire in 25 miles). When I took the truck in, told them about the issue, they did their inspection and said "no it`s definitely not the transmission, but we found a few other minor issues which we took care of." Two weeks later and an... view more expired warranty, driving to work I hear a horrible noise. Had it towed to Chevy right away and they said "the rear end and transfer case are bad, will cost about $3000 to fix." I said screw that and had it towed home with the intention to just fix it myself. After much research I discovered it was the transmission and rear end. Obviously their mechanics don`t have a clue what they are doing and wanted to fix something that wasn`t broken. They accepted no responsibility for their oversight and told me I was SOL! DONT EVER TAKE YOUR CHEVY TO THEM!! They will screw you at any chance they can.
