I can`t believe I`m actually writing a review for a smog station... But this place was great! I think I have been getting ripped off whenever I`ve gotten smog tests done before. I got an online coupon (it ended up being $40 for the test with the certificate) and read some Yelp reviews about how nice this place was, how fast they were, etc... so I came. So quick, so friendly, and great price!! The owner took t... view morehe time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions. I literally pulled up and they came out and greeted me and got started immediately! I couldn`t have been more impressed!! I`ve NEVER been to any place automotive related where I actually enjoyed the experience. I was out of there in 15 minutes. Customer service was phenomenal. YOU MUST go here for your smogs! These guys deserve your business. You won`t regret it :)

Thanks to yp I stumbled upon Clairemont Auto Care and I`m so glad I did! Before going here, I set up an appointment and brought my car in by 12AM. I had just moved back from el cajon so my car had been out of commission and under PNO status for quite some time. Thanks to Clairemont Auto Care, they changed my oil, got my car smogged and certified and not to mention, they also repaired a busted regulator on my drive... view morer side window which prevented it from powering up. Honestly I had this problem for over a year not knowing who could fix this for a reasonable price. Luckily, they had the part available and were able to get everything done by closing time. When I brought my car in, Al explained to me that it would take a couple hours to work on since one of his repair guys wouldn`t be arriving till noon so he wanted to make sure I had another means of transportation which I did. I basically had left my car in their shop and Al kept me posted throughout the day to let me know what was going on and how much the job would cost. For a new regulator, smog check and oil change, I paid about $289. At first I was a little hesitant to leave my car there, but as soon as I got back, I was just relieved that all the work was done and I didn`t have to worry about my window and smog certificate anymore. I`ll have to say Clairemont Auto Care is a pretty reliable Auto Repair shop and not to mention honest. I would definitely bring my car back for service next time.

I came here based on the location (close to DMV) as well as the reviews and received efficient and friendly service. Arriving just after they opened, I was immediately seen and the smog test was done in just under 15 minutes. Thank you for the great service!

The positive reviews about this place are all completely true!! Yesterday morning I was looking for a place to have my car smog tested so I broke out my trusty yp app. Found this place close to my house with good reviews. I pulled in to their lot (yes it looks super ghetto and worn down). A guy was walking out to assist me before I even had the ignition turned off. He wrote up a work order and invited me to either... view more wait in one of their chairs. I sat down and played on my phone for probably like 12 minutes when he came over and said your car is done and it passed! They filed my paperwork with the DMV electronically and I was on my way. The whole process took less than 15 minutes. I paid. $40 total for the smog an the certificate. I`m not sure how that ranks compared to other places costs, but I felt it was worth it for the service.

Smog Check Operator is Ripping People Off!

My daughter and I took her car in for a smog check. Albiart said the car passed the smog tests, but he would fail the visual inspection of the gas cap because he said there was a crack in it. We asked to see the crack. But there was no crack to be found by him or us. He said if we did not buy a new gas cap from him he would fail the test. This is fraud! There was no crack in the gas cap. We bought the gas cap at double the normal price so we could get to our next appointment on time.
