I started working? at? Rebel Engine? as mechanic in 1979, for the founder and previous owner Doug Lincoln. I left Rebel Engine in 1988 to open my own Auto Repair Shop.? When Doug retired I bought Rebel Engine from him in 2004.? I? now continue Doug`s commitment? and strive for excellence in all repairs. I`m a one man shop so when your vehicle is repaired at Rebel Engine you will be getting one on one care. I have always thought of every car that I work on as being one of my own and only repair the things that need to be repaired.? All repairs are guaranteed.

I have known Rick at Rebel Engine for 15 years. Since I was 8 years old, maybe 9. The point of it all is that, as his stepdaughter, you may think this review will be biased. After looking at other reviews on this page though, that should prove to be not the case. Rick gives the same level of care and dedication to his family as he does to his customers at work. When you walk in to Rebel Engine, you will always be gre... view moreeted with a smile, hello, and how can I help you. Rick is incredibly knowledgeable, incredibly fair, and incredibly honest. You have to admire a mechanic who will tell you that you do not need to have your fluids changed because he already did it and it isn`t time yet. Or a mechanic who will drive 3 hours (one way!) to your broken down car to call AAA because they won`t tow without seeing proof of a AAA membership. Maybe it`s a stereotype, but I haven`t met many other mechanics (or working people in general) who will turn down work (and therefore money). If you are even thinking of giving Rick a chance to work on your car, take it. If you don`t like something about it, he`ll tell you a better shop to go to. What do you have to lose?

Rick at Rebel Engine is an honest mechanic. And, it is obvious to me that he takes great pride in his workmanship and how he runs his business; he always stands behind his work. Trust, Reliabilty and Affordable

My car`s engine had a blown head. I needed someone who was trustworthy, reliable and affordable. As I shopped around, I came across Rebel Engine in Simi Valley, CA. I`ve been a client of Rebel Engine for almost 25 years now. The service is incredible, reliable, and Rick is honest and straightforward. Mechanics like Doug and Rick come around once in a lifetime - if you`re lucky - and I feel I truly am! I have referred many people to Rebel with complete confidence. I`ve even compared other service centers with Rebel Engine. I`m sure I`m not the only one who has had "recommend... view moreations" for engine work when I`ve taken my care in for tires somewhere else, but what I enjoy is asking for a printout of those recommendations and then taking them to Rick. He is always amazed at what other people try to sell me. Is it because I`m a woman? I don`t know, but in all the years I`ve done business with Rebel, they`ve treated me with respect, and taught me about my cars and the service they need. I`m looking to purchase a new car for the first time in 15 years. I credit the longevity of my cars to Rebel and the outstanding service they provide, and my new purchase will be with Rick`s advice and recommendation. If you are looking for an honest, professional, affordable automobile mechanic, just go to Rebel Engine and meet with the Owner, Rick James. I sold my home in the San Fernando Valley, purchased a manufactured home in a mobile home park in Simi Valley, decided to find a mechanic close to my new home so, I went to the office in my park.........gladly they referred me to Rebel Engine,which, by the way, was walking dist... view moreance from my home. Knows His Stuff

Most people think it`s hard to find an honest mechanic. I don`t think that`s true. Rick is honest, but I really think it`s hard to find COMPETENT mechanics! Rick knows what he`s doing--that`s what`s exceptional. Despite the fact that he`s really good at what he does, he doesn`t gold-plate the price. In other words, he`s reasonably priced. Also, I believe he does not recommend unnecessary repairs.
