AMAZING place! A true gem!
My fiance and I went to the sage room to try out some place new after spending a couple hours at the beach. I had heard of it from a friend and had also driven by it many times wondering what it may be like. I wasn`t really sure what type of food it was, but after reading so many praising reviews I decided we must try it! Best decision ever as my fiance said! Guillermo was our sever and showed us the most hospitality... view more, above and beyond! He was like a good friend having us over for dinner to his house and so patient! Calamari was so divine and then he brought us a special treat to try, some pumpkin ravioli that literally melted in our mouths and were so full of flavour, like nothing we have ever had. Our drinks were constantly refilled, but we weren`t being rushed out the door like most places treat you. I ordered the chicken pizza with sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, and bufalo cheese and it was very very good! My fiance ordered the lasagna and was in heaven the moment he took his first bite! We didn`t really have room for dessert so we were going to just pack up what we had left and head out, but Guillermo surprised us with a delicious chocolate dessert to top it all off! WOW! We will be back! Romantic, clean, friendly, warm, welcoming! Love!

Excellent Food, Romantic and Clean!
My husband to me to The Sage Room on PCH in Malibu in a limo for my birthday, along with our 2 grown kids.
Wow! The chef is pleasant and hospitable. We just loved him and the staff, not to mention the food is off the chart at a 20. This place is impeccably clean. One bite of my seafood dish and I was certain someone instantly blew me right out of my chair. Wow!
The music reminded me of sultry Argentine T... view moreango music. Honestly, I was swept off of my feet into a romantic atmosphere of excellent dining. The chef made me feel so wonderful, as if I were in Italy. This day my husband gave to me was so powerful, that I came away in a new frame of mind and what a tremendous stress buster, too. Thank You to The Sage Room. Thank You Very Much.

Best restaurant on PCH and vicinity
My wife and I have enjoyed this place since they first opened about 10 years ago. It`s cozy and friendly and their menu is consistently good and creative. As we drive through our community, we sometimes comment on the different restaurants that we won`t return to and the reasons why. Sage is on our short list thanks to Claudio and his staff.

Best Restaurant in Malibu
This is hands down the best restaurant in Malibu. The reviews below pretty much say it all. Go there even if you don`t want Italian food. Besides typically Italian dishes (THE best melt in our mouth lasagna I`ve ever had... this includes Italy) you will find things on the menu like beef stew. Sound boring?... Wrong! The roots of the place are in Claudio`s home town in northern Italy, with recipies created by his... view more mother. The beef stew is an example; It`s one of those dishes that the people there actually eat, but I`ve never seen it on a menu in an Italian restaurant before. Claudio and Wilfredo will prepare it for you with anything you like (I suggest fettucine alfredo with it). I know... you don`t like fettucine alfredo because it`s always too cheesy and gooey and heavy... Wrong again. It`s exquisite here.. the way it`s meant to be prepared. Not in the mood for Italian at all? Try the incredible pork porterhouse (often on the menu) with roasted potatoes and a vegetable.
Oh, one more thing... In a town with lots of pretentious, overpriced places with mediocre food, The Sage Room is reasonably priced. They even have a wine selection of the month for $20 a bottle; I always order it, and it`s always excellent. The Sage Room is a gem. If you like great dining, you`re guaranteed to love it.

An AMAZING find in Malibu
I visited the Sage Room on Friday night for the first time with my family. I must say that the food and the service were fantastic. We were promptly greeted by the owner who introduced us to his wife. Once seated, we reviewed the menu and the owner came back to take our order. With each order we made, he commented something special about the dish. If it was a special recipe from his Italian mother, or if the che... view moreese was imported, or even if it was just to say, ""you won`t be dissapointed"" and how it was prepared. I really wish there was something like this restaurant in the San Fernando Valley. I will definately be back, but it is quite far from my home. Excellent!!!!

My new favorite restaurant!! Absolutely delicious, beautfiful presentation and Service with a smile!
A good friend of mine brought me to the Sage Room and I have to say it is honestly one of the best places I have eaten at in LA. The food is fantastic and the service was the way it should be ~ prompt, professional and friendly. It was like I was a guest at someone`s home who did everything they could to ensure that my stay was memorable, and that it was!
I will certainly be back!

Fun, intimate environment and great food!
I`ve dined at Sage Room 3 times since meeting the owner Claudio on a bike ride. When he told me about the restaurant I decided to try it that night. The food was wonderful, and the service was outstanding though it was a bit more expensive than I expected. My next 2 visits were for the Sunday brunch. Again, outstanding food and very reasonably priced. You get the sense that Claudio or his wife are personally i... view moren charge of the food preparation and special selections.
The only negative, and it`s not the fault of the restaurants, is the deafening noise level created by the Neanderthals on their Harley`s going up and down the PCH on Sunday mornings.

Outstanding!
We made the drive from Westlake to Sage and boy, was it worth it! My husband and I reside in Phoenix but were visiting his parents for the weekend. Sage is our new favorite restaurant! The welcome and service was outstanding... The meal, fantastic. We left our mark by ordering 5 deserts because the variety sounded too good to pass up. Most delicious cheesecake we`ve ever tasted. 10/10

Best food and ambience
We just came from having dinner at Sage Room. The owner Claudio is outstanding. His welcome is exceptional. His presence with his wife and son makes the difference. We enjoyed talking to them and enjoyed equally their home made lasagna and the whole wheat spaghetti with chicken, rapini and sundried tomatoes. We will for sure go back more than once.

Wonderful place for a delicious dinner!
We are always more than happy to drive from the valley to Malibu to dine at this fabulous little restaurant. Claudio, the owner, provides incredibly personalized service and will accommodate virtually any request. The food is creative, interesting and absolutely delicious. My favorite is the pumpkin raviolis, which I must confess I ate five times in a span of about four weeks, I was so addicted to them. We recently h... view moread an ahi that was rubbed with chilis, over crispy spinach, which was out of this world. It was one of Claudios seasonal specials, which are always wonderful. The food is more than reasonably priced for the quality and experience we received. I cant recommend this place enough for romantic dinner or anytime you just want a great meal.
