450.00 Rip Off
450.00 for spark plug wires and my van still wasn`t fixed...
I brought my van there for a miss that was happening when it was in gear. it runs fine and tows my big boat great. had just passed smog fine and runs like a champ other than this charging issue.
I told him that it would stumble while in gear at light and the alt gauge drops for a second like a studder.
he told me that it was my spark plug wires that was ... view morethe problem... what??? he assured me this was going
to take care of the problem. and upon getting my van back after 450.00 to put new wires on it,
it still did the same thing.
I showed up the next morning and he wasn`t there yet, so I went to a ford dealer and showed them what it was doing and they said wires had nothing to do with that. it was probably my alternator.. they told me for less than 1hr they could tell me whats wrong... upon returning to Rene`s I showed him the problem, he conquered that there was still a problem and I should leave it with him... what about the money I already gave you, 450.00...
that didn`t fix the problem and I should at least get the 2hrs of troubleshooting back as you didn`t get it right yet.
no way my friend, just leave it here and I will check it out. I said no way, as next he could lock up my van inside till I pay him again to find the next problem. I asked for my money back, still no way...
bottom line is my van was fixed and it took under an hr to find out what was wrong by the ford dealer,
and it wasn`t the spark plug wires either..
this is the 2nd chance I have given him as last time he did work on my steering column for the crusie control
and broke off the key and charged me for a new switch/key/install for 180.00 which was just fine when I brought it in and it that wasn`t my fault you did that... I got hosed
if you want cheap work and to pay while they learn how to do things on your car this is the place...
I should have gone to guys who know and are trained... another life lesson.
