An Ing. Mercedes mechanic

The owner, Norick is many things - what he doesn`t usually mention is he has an Ing. degree from U. Vienna and worked for Mercedes development for years. He`s a great guy but not exactly gregarious. The other mech`s in the shop don`t always know exactly what the plan is, and the place isn`t the cheapest. I say this up front because I want you to know: this is the best mechanic I have ever been to: Land Rovers,... view more Toyota Celicas, Merc`s and BMW`s of all vintage - Alpina can handle it. More importantly are things most people don`t know to look for: Norick uses hand tools, not powertools for the most part, and the shop is quiet as a result, which is the off-putting part. But the reality is the hand tools are easier on your car. The mechanics are top notch, and very friendly underneath. I would never take my car to a dealer over Alpina, or to another shop. They are just that good. Like I said they aren`t the cheapest, but if they miss something, they don`t recharge you for work if there`s something that goes awry. And they will dig into your car before offering an estimate and do it for free. So the extra $20. for labor is to my mind a deal - since your saving another four hours. Only downside really is they don`t do clutches, body work or smog. One more thing: After I moved away from Berk, I had a problem with my car, and I called Norick to ask him what he thought, and he walked me through a diagnosis on the phone. That`s how great they are.
