Reviews:
I do not usually write reviews...
I do not usually write reviews on a place of business. But sadly I did not want someone else to go through the same as I did. If i had to rate this place it would be a zero to be quite honest.
I had just moved to the area and a friend of mine had a coupon to Scher. I never go to a business without looking into the reviews which was my first mistake. I went to Scher for a simple oil change and maintenance check up.... view more After about over an hour of waiting. The manager Greg had told me that one of my tires needed to be patched up and two of my rims were dented and needed to be repaired. I just said yes to all services which was yet another mistake I made. I left the shop with what thought would be a $30 oil change to $100 plus work.
After leaving the shop my car just didn`t feel right. And I knew there was an issue. So i brought it back to Scher (my third mistake). After waiting another hour. His prognosis was that I needed new rims on my tires. I thought to myself what does tires and rims have to do with how my car runs. So I asked Greg what the price would be so i would know. He had told me after going on and on that I would receive a great discount that the cost of repairs would be $500. I said thanks but not right now. While Greg was in the back a tow guy approached me and said go get a second opinion.
I knew something was not right. I called my mechanic from home who i know and trust and he told me to call AC DELCO for a much more reputable company since just about anyone can staple their name and say they are a mechanic and/or business. So i took my car to Expertech and told Gary the full story. He had a look at my car while hooking it up to the computer for a diagnostic. From him I found out that Scher filled my oil up 1/4 then what it should have been and the air pressure filter was slammed shut in the midst of my maintenance check at Scher.
I called Scher and told them the problem and because I had to go to another mechanic to fix the damages they had done to my car (an extra $100) worth i thought i deserved my money back. Greg and told me to come down and he would reimburse me. The next day I went to Scher (my third visit to this business in a less than two week span) Greg told me he needed to see the receipt and speak with the other mechanic for a reimbursement. At this point i was taking things personal. I dont know if it was because i was a female or because he knew I knew nothing about cars.
My male friend then decided to intervene. He gave Greg the receipt and also the phone number and name of the other mechanic. Everything that Scher needed in order to get my money back they had. Greg was very difficult in this process. The discussion ended in a such a way that I was floored and disgusted. Greg had said that he didn`t think he had to reimburse me and that he would take his chances and let me report him to the better business bureau.
The way that this "company" conducted itself left me appalled. Not only are they less then reputable regarding their skill set but their customer service skills if any is less than desirable.
