Good Mechanic, Nice Guys

Our family has been going to Western Diagnosis for years. Greg and his crew always treat us nicely, usually get our cars done within a day or often just hours, and the prices are fair. They`ve done all sizes of repairs for us on both U.S. and import cars, and they also recently did some inspections we needed for the DMV.. They`re also good for referrals when you need stuff done like body work. On one occasion w... view morehen they were unable to diagnose a computer-related intermittent problem, they didn`t charge us, and were interested to know what the problem was when we found out. I`m sorry about the other reviewer`s experiences there, but they`re not typical. When Greg and his guys aren`t sure what a problem is, they let us know very clearly in advance of doing the work, and I`ve heard them do that with other customers as well. Our experiences with Western Diagnosis & Repair is that they`re local, have good prices, they`re fast and friendly. And they let us drop our cars there after they close so they can get started on them before we wake up.

Terrible diagnosis, unacceptable customer service, bad neighborhood business

I brought my car to this garage because it had to get towed and the garage is very close to my house. I brought the car in because it was having trouble starting. First I got the fuel line cleaned out, that was unsuccessful. The second time the mechanic said you need to get your gas tank cleaned out because it is clogging the fuel line, another unsuccessful attempt. The carbouretor is dirty because the gas tank i... view mores dirty, that didn`t work so they sent the carb back to get it looked at again. I had to bring the car back another time because it wouldn`t start I couldn`t get it out of a parking spot so I got ticketed and towed. All in all my car has been to this garage 5 times in the last 2 months and the car still isn`t starting properly. The repair is never speedy, he has had my car for up to a week for one repair. He has charged me every time I brought the car in and I have spent over $500 at this shop to get nothing fixed that was causing the car to not start. The mechanic is now telling me I need a new starter and wants to charge me another $175, unbelievable.
