SERVICE DEPT. VERY HELPFUL
When I first bought my Jeep I thought dealing with the service dept. would be like all my other experiences with car dealerships and they have not all been pleasant. However, I have found the crew to be very helpful at Don A Vee. I never feel like I am being steered the wrong way, or being told I needed something that is not necessary. I have been lucky so far (2 years) I have not had to have anything major in rep... view moreairs done due to the fact that I do have all my regular maintence done. Also, I do need to mention that George in the service dept. is the best!! He explains everything so it is understandable by the average person not in the automobile business. I recommend this service dept. to all Jeep and Chrysler car owners.

service people very helpful
New digital service system allows them to keep track of prior service and not recommend something that may not be needed. I`ve found standard / basic services to be fairly priced and have not had to deal with anything major yet. I take my other 4 cars to a goodyear dealer so these guys are good enough for me to keep coming back. Free car wash with service can take a while so either skip it or be patient.

The greatest place to buy a car. Kenny Smirz in sales spent hours to find my car in San Luis Obispo where other dealers only tried to sell me anything off their lot even though it didn`t come close to filling my needs. At Don-A-Vee, it took 2 short phone calls and the deal was done. They came through with everything they promised and no games when I walked in the door. Quick, easy, and fun, the only way to purcha... view morese a car.

DON-A-VEE A typical haggle dealership
DON-A-VEE summed up: 1. Test Drive elsewhere then come here if they have what you want. 2. If you have a trade-in, take it to CarMax and walk in with Cash
3. Use your own financing, or find out ahead of time what they were able to get for you as they won`t tell you.
4. Be prepar... view moreed for the wear-down tactic and key retention.
5. Bring some cash for gas if you live a ways a way.
I went to Don-A-Vee to pick up a new Jeep Cherokee Laredo X in Red. The car was in stock and I was able to test drive it. I also has a 2009 Dodge Challenger RT Classic in B5 blue to trade in.
Test Drive: The test drive experience was frustrating at best. It was pulling teeth to keep the salesman on the topic of the vehicle and not talking about video games. The drive route was extremely short, we were lucky if we covered a couple blocks. All-in-all it was tough to make up my mind on the car and trim package based on this experience. No other cars were offered to be brought out or looked at.
Trad-in negotiation: Long story short, the salesman told me outright ""We can`t compete with Carmax."" and came 2.5K short of the Carmax appraisal I had done that morning. As far as I can tell, they never set foot outside to inspect the car.
New car negotiation: Standard wear-down tactics and holding on to my trade-in key were employed in order to make the sale. The sales man didn`t waste any time dropping the price by 1K for the car with whatever rebates he could find. After that, they held me hostage by not relinquishing my key so that I could leave the premises.
The salesman made several comments about how much I made and that I could afford this car (even though I have my first child at 5mos old) He did immediately apologize, but he was out of line.
Eventually, we came to a point where the monthly payments made sense, though it wasn`t until the salesman encouraged me to walk to my car so he could negotiate and go through the theatrics of walking out.
Warranty: The finance officer was polite and courteous and even though she was required to try and sell me on the warranty, she did not press the matter or make comments about my personal life.
Financing: I was pre-approved through my bank for 2.99% apr, I told the salesman I would take a lower APR if they could find one. They found me a 2.40% apr rate. Sounds great, but they never mentioned it until signing the contract, when it could have been used to bring the monthly payment down.
Taking possession: They did wash the car and put gas in the car. Though don`t expect a full-tank. It`s policy at Don-A-Vee to only put in $30.

Been avoiding taking my Jeep t...
Been avoiding taking my Jeep to the dealer because of cost and they always hand you a long list of repairs needed, etc. We`ll at Don A Vee they gave me a no BS assessment and promised the work done the very next day. They did exactly what they said and not only did they fix what we discussed, they fixed minor stuff they came across at no additional charge. ?ˆ?My Jeep has found a home?ˆ?. Ask for George in the service d... view moreepartment, and Gary is the tech who worked on my vehicle, but I?ˆ™m sure that all the techs there know their stuff.
Thanks to all at Don A Vee, from the girl who answers the phone, to the guy who took my credit card.

Use Extreme Caution When Dealing With This Company
I would suggest not dealing with Don A Vee Chrysler Jeep?ˆ™s service department. I took my 1999 Jeep Cherokee there for an oil change and they also performed a vehicle ""inspection"".
Don A Vee Chrysler Jeep claimed to have found a number of things that needed to be serviced, but the price they quoted just seemed outrageous. Here is what they recommended:
SPARK PLUGS, CAP, ROTOR, AND IGNITION WIRES = $342
POW... view moreER STEERING FLUSH = $155
THROTTLE BODY SERVICE = $168
FUEL INJECTOR SERVICE = $155
BRAKE FLUID FLUSH = $160
RADIATOR COOLANT FLUSH = $168
TRANSMISSION SERVICE = $199
GRAND TOTAL = $1347
I decided to take my Jeep to another vehicle service shop for a second opinion. They told me I didn?ˆ™t need ignition wires, my throttle body was clean, my fuel injectors were fine, and my brake fluid was fine.
So Don A Vee Chrysler Jeep told me that I needed services to my vehicle that it did not need. They cannot be trusted. Also, the repairs that did need to be performed, they wanted to charge me an outrageous amount for.
Here is what I ended up paying at the service shop I ended up taking my Jeep to:
TRANSMISSION FILTER, GASKET & FLUID = $140 RADIATOR COOLANT & FLUSH = $50
SPARK PLUGS = $50
CAP & ROTOR = $50
GRAND TOTAL = $290
That is over $1000 less than what Don A Vee wanted. I have both invoices as proof of this.
Don A Vee Chrysler lied about what repairs needed to be performed and they attempted to price gouge me, assuming I was an unsuspecting consumer. That should be a crime. I suggest NEVER going to Don A Vee Chrysler Jeep to have your vehicle serviced.
