Our Toyota van had its back seat window smashed early evening on a Monday, and I immediately checked the yellow pages for auto glass repair places. I called three places (at about 6:30pm), and Cal Glass was the only one where a person, not a voice machine, answered. Ray, the co-owner, couldn`t have been more helpful, taking time (after hours!) to explain my options. I wasn`t sure I`d be able to drop the car off t... view morehe next day, and Ray offered his cell phone number so I could call later to let him know definitely, once I`d figured out a drop-off arrangement. Next morning, I dropped the car off before hours, did a ""lock out"" where I left the car on the street in front of the shop and dropped the key in the mail slot, and checked in with Ray about 9:30am. He was already working on my car, and he even stayed later than the shop closes that evening because I couldn`t pick up the car until 6:30pm (`though it was ready much earlier). Ray was authentic, friendly, efficient, and clearly skilled in all matters related to replacing auto glass. I really like that Cal Glass is a local establishment where you can either take your car or have someone come out to service your car. Ray advised me that taking my car into the shop would work better because with all the broken glass that littered my car inside, they could do the most efficient vacuuming job right at the shop (and I`m sure he`s right about that!). I would absolutely go back to this place if I needed auto glass service again! Twenty-four hours after discovering our damaged window, we had our ""whole car"" back -- and the extremely positive experience in between truly minimized the aggravation and anxiety related to the ordeal! Very Friendly, Very quick to please

I had my car broken into and the window shattered. After a lot of insurance red tape, I finally got them to find me a place to have it repaired today. They sent me to Cal Glass in Berkeley. I spoke to Ray and he was more than happy to help me today and when I got to the shop, I was impressed at the friendliness and care they gave to me and my car. Ray was already out picking up a window to replace my broken one. ... view more I found out from them that I had actually told the insurance company the wrong window and color, but one of the guys working there told me that they would make sure I was sent home with a window and if not the proper color, they would get the right one and have me come back and replace it. I did not have to go back, as they had the correct one and were prompt in repairing it within the hour they told me it would take and with the proper window. I was very happy to have the opportunity to make their acquaintance and to get such good service. I recommend them highly. Thank you Cal Glass for helping me have a much better day!!

First Rate Service & Workmanship!

Take it from a repeat costumer, Cal Glass is a top notch operation; good people, great workmanship, excellent attention to detail. They installed a new windshield in my car six months after I bought it; I had no problems with it whatsoever. Five years later I picked up another rock and went back. They found a flaw in the new replacement window and rejected it before installation; the distributor had to supply a pe... view morerfect one. They got the job done in an hour. If I get hit with another rock, I`ll head straight to Cal Glass, they`re that good!

this place is the best

on a saturday the drivers side window i had been putting off getting fixed finally bit the dust. i called this place at 11:30. by 12:30 the guy had gone to get the part it needed and i was on my way. wow! thank you cal glass!

Just Say No To Cal Glass!

After a recent experience with these guys of haphazardly instaliing a windshield onto my vehicle, I feel the need to expose them for performing shoddy and inferior work. After a visit to the car wash, I discovered serious leaks due to poor installation...the windshield was easily pushed away from it`s mounting by hand.
Deal with this company at your own risk!
