Poor Service and Questionable Practices

I moved to the area about a year and a half ago and found this place conveniently located right down the street from my place. About a year ago, I took my car in (at less than 30,000 miles) to get an oil change. I left with an oil change and three brand new tires, three because a while back I had one of the tires replaced for a puncture that was not repairable. At that visit, a man name Austin told me somethin... view moreg about my tire alignment was off so it was causing wear on my three other tires and that the tires were in such bad shape that I needed to replace them all. Similar to the experience of another review below, he made the situation sound dire. I ask him to see the tires and he rolls one of them to the front of the shop. The tire doesn`t look bad at all. Just seems like a little scuff on the side of the tire. He assures me, however, that they must be replaced. I`m a young woman in my early 20s with little experience in car repairs so I call my dad in Texas to ask his opinion. He tells me to take the car to another shop for a second opinion. I ask Austin to put the tires back on so I could get a second opinion. Austin informs me that he can`t put the tires back on because it`s in bad condition and it would be a liability if I leave there and get into an accident. Long story short, I really don`t know whether I needed three new tires, but the practices at this shop seem questionable. Curious that only 3 of the tires needed replacing. The fourth tire wasn`t that new. Fast forward to a year later. I take my car in on Saturday for a tire rotation because it`s a free service that comes with the tires. Austin tells me the shop is too busy and to come back on Sunday. I ask him if I need an appointment so that I don`t encounter the same problem. He assures me that I don`t. The next day comes along and I take my car back. Same guy Austin tells me that they are super busy (yet it`s pouring rain outside and it didn`t seem that busy). He estimates that the wait will be an hour and a half, the time the shop closes. I don`t have anyone to pick me up and I don`t have an hour and a half to spare so I leave. I`m annoyed and frustrated because I specifically asked him if I needed an appointment for this very reason and I wasted a trip in the pouring rain. Poor service and questionable practices at this place. I won`t be returning to this shop again.
