Karen has been there for me and my family all the way. As a young guy who doesnt know that much about cars (though my friends do) my family has been going to her since THEY were younger. My dad still uses her service to this day, and that is how i met her. She doesnt overcharge, is always friendly, and without pressure tells you exactly what needs to be fixed, and what can wait for another day. She has looked over many of my prospect cars that i was thinking about buying for no charge and told me her honest thoughts on them. (Saved me from buying a lemon) WORTH IT ALREADY! ALSO, if you have ever been to her shop then you know about her vending machine which is only 75 cents for a soda. LOVE IT Been using for serveral years now (about 5 i belive) and my father has been using for about 15 years.

Saved me $800

Karen is an honest business owner. When 6 different mechanics were telling me to change my catalytic converter and they wanted 600-800 for it, or I would not pass the smog test, she took her sweet time to explain how that was misdiagnosed, and helped me get my car going and pass the smog test. Karen has not only written a book on auto repair, but she also does monthly classes for women on auto repair as well. She`s thorough and honest. Her prices are always fair and I will be a loyal customer for life, as will all of my friends that go to her.

Honest Work, Honest Prices

Ive been going to Karen for all my auto needs for over 15 years. Most of my friends go to her too because she is honest, has good prices and really cares about you and your car. She has been in the business for over 20 years and really knows her stuff. She is honest, has good prices and good mechanics. Did terrible work on my car and did not honor the lifetime warranty on the radiator that was replace

I had my radiator replaced at North Hollywood Discount Muffler after a friend recommended them to me. At first I thought I`d found a mechanic I could feel comfortable with. However, in the end this was one of the worst car repair experiences I`ve ever had.

After North Hollywood Discount Muffler`s replaced my radiator - with a lifetime warrantied radiator - I had non-stop problems. Over the course of 4-5 mon... view moreths after the radiator was replaced I returned no less then five times because my car kept overheating and was loosing radiator fluid non-stop. The owner, Karen Valenti, blamed the problems on the radiator cap. Every time I returned with the same problem she would change the radiator cap and send me off. After she tried to change the radiator cap for the fifth time I insisted she inspect my car more closely, since there was clearly a much larger problem then the radiator cap. At my expense, the radiator was replaced for a second time with a Honda radiator and not two months passed before I started having problems again.

This place really doesn`t know what they are doing. Either they don`t know how to diagnose Honda Civic problems or they don`t know how to install a radiator properly. Either way after the second radiator didn`t take the the owner Ms. Valenti refused to honor the lifetime warranty on the original radiator which I had paid for. Or to replace the second radiator which I had also purchased.

If you are looking for reliable service and with a guarantee on quality workmanship this is the last place to look. Terrible terrible terrrible.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!

I took my car to Karen at North Hollywood Discount Mufflers and Brakes for an inspecion for purchase.
Though the car had a lot of miles on it she told me that it was in fantastic condition and was a bargain.
The vehicle blew a head gasket 3 weeks later and now needs to have either an engine rebuild or a replacement motor.
I sent the car back to Karen who after telling me that a break in the radiator had caus... view moreed the engine damage, recommended an engine rebuild, new radiator etc, etc, etc.
She then admitted she may have missed a break in the radiator during the inspection but added ""but you`ll never get me to admit to it""
When I asked her what was the best price she could give me for ""possibly"" missing the break in the initial inspection and to keep me as a customer, she replied, take the car, I don`t want to touch it.

Honest Service for an Honest Price

Not only have I taken my car here many times, but now all my friends do as well (and none of us live in the valley). I once thought my brakes were bad because they were squeking super loud, but they did a inspection and said nothing was wrong and they didn`t charge me.
