Phantom Electronics and Mobridge System-Sub Par

Phantom Electronics sold me a $3000 piece of garbage Mobridge i-pod converter, and i phone stereo hook up thats so complicated that even they couldn`t figure out how to get it to work. Almost 9 months later I know that the purchase was a complete waste of time. For a lot of money all I got was a satellite radio system with a i-phone handsfree hookup. I-pod is unusable and so is the i-phone mp3 player through a system... view more they told me would work. I would definitely not recommend Mobridge or Phantom Electronics. THIS COMPANY IS REALLY EXCELLENT TO DEAL WITH

Some few years ago, I was directed to this company by the manufacturer of some equipment that had been fitted into my car by a car dealer in the mid west. I never knew what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised by what happened next. I was very impressed by the knowledge of the staff and the manner in which they conducted themselves in dealing with my problem. Clearly they knew exactly what they were doing and they completed the work accordingly and I was totally happy with the service that I had received. I did have a further problem with the equipment at a later date and when I returned to this company they had no hesitation in making the relevant arrangements to put things right.. I subsequently went back with another new car and I purchased a completely new sound system from them. They were extremely helpful in advising me which equipment to choose and they gave me every choice that was available. They then installed the new equipment and they did really a great job. I never had a moment of doubt that they would do a good job and I was not disappointed at all. I recently took my latest car to them and I did exactly what I did with the previous car. Technology had moved on and I was not as up to date with what equipment was now available. The choices were very good and so were their prices. Their knowledge was golden and I ended up choosing great equipment at a very reasonable price. The installation was carried out in an expert an very neat manner as usual and fully up to my expectations. I have recommended several friends to this store and every one has thanked me for sending them there. The level of service is par excellence and their knowledge of available equipment is a great help in making the right decisions and selection. I have no hesitation in recommending this store to anyone who has a real interest in using the very best. I did however notice that there is a scathing review of this store in these user reviews. I can only say that I do not believe that this person and I were shopping in the same store as my friends and I as I would only go back to somewhere that I had given me repeated excellence and service. MY EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT AND I WILL ALWAYS PATRONIZE THIS STORE.

long time pro in new building

Al &Eds needed a distant reservation to replace xm antenna. Howard got one in the next day and said come on in and got it done w/in an hour. Price of antenna and install under $90. Easy, casual, competent. Great personality devoid of BS. Several other deals over the past 15 yrs. No haggling; confident in fair prices.

Stay away from these guys!

I went to them about two years ago and it took me a new installer to realize how bad these guys are. First, their charges are through the roof - $125/hour. These guys think that they are so good apparently. If you buy stuff from them, then they charge you ""only"" $75/hour. Just the difference here should tell you that they make a lot of money selling overpriced audio and Howard will really try to sell his stuff. If ... view moresomething goes wrong, he`ll easily point out that the equipment was not bought from him. This is a guy who think that Clarion (he sells these) is the best brand, better than Alpine, Eclipse, and doesn`t even want to compare to Pioneer! C`mon. I talked to many professionals and installers who are not trying to shove their garbage down your throat and they all say that at around $300, many stereos are pretty much the same. Erik, the other guy in the ship, claimed that Memphis amps were the best (better than Zed audio, same company that made Nakamichi). He was corrected by someone from their own shop, but this shows the atmosphere at this place.
Anyway, I was able to negotiate a ""cheap"" price and got charged a whopping $350 to install two speaker and an amp! I even provided all the equipment and the wires. The installation took over 10 hours because they couldn`t figure out how to connect my amp! Eventually they told me that it`s not working and I had to drive for hours to the manufacturer only to find out that you could connect a regular CD player to the amp and see that it IS working. After the manufacturer explained them how to install the amp, I went back and they finally did it. After about a year, the amp that they attached had fallen down and the tweeter was handing beneath my dash. These guys are are overpriced and incompetent. I went to another installer, Sounds Unlimited (818) 547-1300 (ask for John), and not only their prices are great, but John is very professional. I was charged only 150 to redo EVERYTHING the phantoms had done and then some.RIP
