HONEST CAR REPAIR
S&K is a small shop across from the San Leandro Post Office, easy to miss if you don`t watch for it. Lu the owner is the very first mechanic to actually walk me around the car and point out all the problems for me to visually see myself. He listened carefully to what I had to say about the problems the car was having and noted everything. When he called I was given several options each with different pricing and also... view more was told which repairs could wait. When I picked up my car a used Acura Integra he showed me all the parts that were removed from the car. I found this shop because I wanted to find one that was local to me and within a walkable distance. How glad was I to discover this little gem. The car is running well now and I have already told my friends about how honest Lu and his crew are. Prices are reasonable too. When he found a part for me that I requested be a refurbished part he actually got a better price than quoted and passed on the savings to me!!! He could have easily pocketed that and I would have been none the wiser.
I am not related to Lu nor do I know anyone at S&K. Ladies if you are looking for honest and efficient car repair do not hesitate to go here. I have already recommended this shop to three of my girlfriends and I am a happy girl to have found this shop.

I have been taking our vehicles to S & K Auto for over 12 years. In addition I have referred my friends as well, all who have had excellent service and with no complaints whatsoever. As a matter of interest to anyone reading this review, I am definitely NOT related to anyone at S & K Auto nor is anyone I have ever referred there for service.
The service, repair work and diagnostic services I have received from S & K Auto has been exemplary. I will illustrate this with a few examples from two of our vehicles:
With regard to my 2005 Toyota Sienna, Lu, the master mechanic at S & K, has saved me from having to pay for a repeatedly leaking transaxle housing assembly by making sure that I took it back where I purchased it and had the dealer repair it UNDER WARRANTY free of charge. I have a 7-year Platinum Warranty that we purchased in addition to our standard warranty, but S & K Auto made sure that I had the dealer repair our Sienna under the ?ˆ?original?ˆ? factory warranty each time as it was a ?ˆ?continuing defect?ˆ? and not outside our original warranty. After finding the leak, each time (the dealer, could not seem to get it to stop), S & K Auto made sure I took photo?ˆ™s of the leak and surrounding areas so that the dealer could not get out from under their responsibility to do the work they were required to do at no charge to me.
As far as diagnostic skills go, we had a 1994 Ford Taurus and there was a factory recall regarding leaking head gaskets that would ?ˆ?leak?ˆ? around 60 K miles. At the insistence of S & K Auto, I had taken the car to the dealer for inspection, who said ?ˆ?nothing was wrong?ˆ? and gave it back to me. I took it back to S & K Auto, who checked out the engine and discovered coolant on the inside of the engine coating the threaded ends of the spark plugs. Because of my invoices from S & K Auto and proof that I had brought my car to the dealer prior to the deadline (again thanks to S & K) and was misled regarding the leak, the dealer contacted the head office and they ended up replacing the head gasket under the factory recall free of charge.
The mechanics at S & K Auto also repaired electrical connections to our Taurus?ˆ™ electric windows, whereas the dealer had said we had to ?ˆ?replace?ˆ? the entire motor assembly for each window, again saving us hundreds of dollars on each window.
The repair technicians are ?ˆ?UP TO DATE?ˆ? on all the latest automotive repairs, recalls and technology and are all highly competent, skilled and well versed in warranty and non warranty information. They always leave my car clean after any service work or inspection.
I would recommend anyone and everyone to S & K Auto without reservation, and in point of fact, do.
If you need a tune-up or have any problem with your car, take it to S & K Auto. They may not be part of your family, but they will treat you and your vehicle(s) like you are. That is very rare today.

Honest Mechanic
Can`t tell you how much Lu at S & K Auto is the most honest mechanic I have ever meet. The quality of work is outstanding plus they are more affordable than other auto shops in the area. There pricing is the best I dare you to find anyone that can beat them in price or quality. My favorite thing about these shop is that they give you the bottom line on what`s wrong with your car. Honest Lou and his crew at S & K are the best!
Lou and his crew deserve at least five stars! I`m not from around here, but luckily through friends I was told about S & K. They`re a small shop on E. 14th, easy to miss from the street, so watch carefully. Other users have mentioned that Lou cares about his reputation - and he does! You won`t leave feeling that you`ve been swindled into some repair that got you nowhere. Lou diagnoses, assesses what is important, det... view moreermines if it is fixable, shows you where the problem areas are, and then tells you what is most important to have done. He has worked on my Chevrolet and Subaru, and each time he has taken me out to the bay and has shown me what needs done; and then tells me why. He won`t pressure you, he doesn`t have to. He explains what is important and what is not, and then lets you decide. Lou and his team are also quick. I`ve always had my car completed in a timely manner. He is worth every penny he charges. An honest shop like this deserves all the praise it can get!

On all levels they are better than any automotive repair I`ve ever used. I`ve recommended them to friends who have had the same results with major and minor automotive repairs - rebuilds to tune-ups to electircal, weird diagnostic stuff etc...you name it.. After all of the years of good service they have provided (at a very reasonably cost) I felt it was important to let the world just how good they are.
To recap;
1) Excellent repairs always - better quality repair than a dealer.
2) Best cost. The dealer maintenance that they perform is a fraction of the cost and better results than the deals or other local repair shops I`ve used through the years.

4) They actually care about their reputation. Not like the crappy and overpriced service recieved at dealers in years past.
5) They can do all reapirs and have worked on everything both foreign and domestic for me. They are great with my Lexus and have saved me a big bundle.

7) S&K keeps my used cars going like new. I really don`t need to buy a new car with Lou and team available.
8) Oh yeah... I travel in from my job in Pleasanton to have them work on my cars... yes they are that good. It takes less time to get them to complete the job than those closer to my job. And they are all very nice guys too.

BEST, MOST KNOWLEDGABLE, LOW COST, EFFICIENT AUTO SERVICE EVER SEEN I . - NO BAD MOJO HERE.
I probably should not recommend this shop because then it will degrade the excellent, efficient and cost effective service that I consistently recieve - but probably not because the volume has never impacted their quality.
