SKIP IT!!! THEY ARE INCOMPETENT IDIOTS AND RUDE!!

DONT WAST YOUR TIME OR MONEY! I DROPED OFF MY CAR TO HAVE BATTERY CHANGED AND WHEN I CALLED TO SEE IF THE WORK WAS DONE THEY SAID THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE BATTERY SO MY CAR SAT THERE FOR 2 HOURS AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL ME THEY COULD NOT FIX IT. Gone Waaaaay Down Hill

I used to go to Pep Boys because they provided excellent service. This is the first one of their stores where I`ve had issues, but they were major enough that I felt I had to share.

- It took more than 3hrs to diagnose my car problem (my brake pads needed replacement).
- It took 24hrs to replace brake pads.
- They often take longer than 5 minutes to answer the phone.

And while my problems were bad enough, they weren`t as bad as the ones everyone around me was having. Not one customer had (what I would consider to be) a decent experience.

Will never go back

My wife and I dropped her SUV off to have work done on a Saturday morning. I told my wife to go in and wait in the line as I would park the SUV with our baby, then move the baby and the baby seat in to my car. I rushed in to a parking spot, stopped, as I could not clear the turn, reversed, then parked. We picked up the SUV that evening and the problem was not resolved. The baby`s car seat is in the back passenger si... view morede of the SUV. My wife took our baby to my mother`s on Sunday as Pep Boys could not schedule us in. She and our son went to the movies. Monday morning my wife took the baby with her to drop off our son at school. Keep in mind that on both of these instances she had to open the rear passenger side door to put the baby in her seat. We were finally able to be scheduled in Monday afternoon at 3pm to have the original matter resolved. Robert told my wife ""to bring her SUV right then and there as they could get the car seen to right away."" It was not touched until the following day. When my wife picked up the SUV Wednesday morning and noticed that there was a BIG WHITE DENT in the rear passenger door. She went back and demanded that they watch the video monitor of the weekend. Pep Boys were determined that it was my rushed parking job on the Saturday morning that caused the dent. This means that we did not notice this HUGE mark on at least 2 occasions. Pep Boys refuses to take liability, and now on top of the $1800 services we have paid them for, we have an estimate of $1200 dollars to fix the dent. Oh....I almost forgot........when they watched the video with my wife and determined that they were not at fault, two of the younger employess, Luis (the store manager) bluntly `high-fived` each other in front of my wife as if they had accomplished something great! RUN FOR THE HILLS

Run for the hills. They had my car for a month and the quality of service detioriorated as the service guys became very aggressive and difficult. I had been a customer fwith Pep Boys since 1997 and after this incident I am done due to one shop`s bad service.
Definitely a terrible experience.

Service

I have taken my car to this Pep Boys a number of times for basic oil changes, new tires and always got quick service and the maintenance crew have always been honest and very professional.

Be Careful

I went to the Pico Pep Boys to have my headlights replaced. One was burned out, but I purchased two so that they would both be replaced and match. I left the car for about an hour, and was told the work was done. The light that was burned out was replaced. Once it was dark, it was very clear that the other bulb -- that I purchased -- was not installed. It is very clear that the older light is much dimmer than th... view moree new one. After multiple calls, they agreed to do the repair. Be forewarned that you need to be careful about getting the work done properly here.

They don`t honor their coupons.

I was in need of two front tires, and as I was driving around I heard an ad on the radio for Pep Boys; they were having a 2 tire + free oil change deal. I thought it sounded good, but when I showed up, the employee--Anthony--told me there was no such thing. Fine, whatever, I still needed two tires. So he quotes me $106 Definity EX700 tires, which sounded expensive, but I hadn`t been in the market for tires in a wh... view moreile so who was I to argue? I check their website, and found that the EX700 are the most expensive tires they offer. Yet every ad has great-sounding $50-60 tires plastered all over the front page. Classic bait & switch. They lure you in with low prices, then offer you the highest-priced products if you don`t know exactly what you want; they`re not out to help you, they`re out to make a buck. And they don`t honor their advertised specials to boot! Anthony even tried to up-sell me on two rear tires, even though we both could clearly see the tires still had at least 8-10 months of tread. There are plenty of other tire shops around, take your business elsewhere.

THE WORST SERVICE CENTER IN THE UNIVERSE AWARD GOES TO....

Let me tell you something.
This is not only the worst PEPBOYS in the entire world! But the worst place to take your car in the universe!!!!
I took my car in to be serviced for a heater core. Afterwards, I asked could they change our locks out and put in new ones,(being that the car had been stolen before).

Didn`t hear from Jose for 2 weeks. By the time he called back he in... view moreformed me that their computers went down & they lost all info on their customers. He went on to say that even though he said they could fix my car...The mechanic looked at it and decided he could no longer fix it. IT WAS TOO MUCH WORK!! I informed them that we would come & pick up the car. But of course once we got there they had already had OUR CAR TOWED!! I went there because I thought Pep Boys was a good deal. I never expected anything this outrageous. Now I have to pay for all the days the car was impounded. Theynever even informed us it would be towed. What kinda place is this? I would strongly urge anyone who is even thinking about taking your car or truck to this place to just SIMPLY DON`T DO IT!!! You`ll end up paying more to get your car out of the impound than you will paying to get your car fixed.
And I pray that PeP boys sees this review....Yeah it`s the cute couple with the black jeep wrangler!

their work needed to be redone

I took my car to this place because I was new to the area and didn`t know better. The job they did on my brakes needed to be redone less than a year later. And they squeaked the whoe time - even though they told me nothing was wrong when I told them about my problems.
