I had to become a member so I could write a rebuttal review against the one above. I have been going to Affordable for several years and have always been treated courteously. They remember my name and what make of car I drive. I can stop by any time to ask their advice and have them check something out that concerns me. I had a problem with the one of my cars not passing smog a couple of times and they fixed the ... view moreproblem so it did pass. The car was running fine but needed some minor adjustments. I remember when Smog checks were cheaper but you had to pay more for the certificate. Now it is one price and the certificate goes to the DMV electronically. Do you pay the same price for gas or groceries as you did 10 years ago. NO. I am just glad I found them years ago. They can order parts and receive them faster than the dealership can and charge a fraction of the price. I trust them wholeheartedly.

Affordable? Not So much.

Affordable Automotive is a terrible shop. They are unhelpful and not very knowledgeable. I went in for a smog test and, instead of telling me it would be an instant fail, they screwed me out of $40 and lied to my face while they did it. I was talking to the technician performing the test and he told me that everything looked fine, even though I found out later that he had already failed my car. He also tried to tell ... view moreme that I could go to DMV and get a temporary driving permit, which I had to explain to him was not available to anyone anymore. Personally, I would expect shops that do smog tests to understand basic smog laws. The only thing they put any effort into was trying to set up another appointment for me to come back. I won`t be going back there, and no one else should either unless they want to get ripped off.
