I drove from over an hour away today ..says open sat. 8-5..got there at 2:30 and it was closed!..sign on doors also said open 8-5.. I was upset using my day off to take care of my smog check and it was a waste of my valuable time! grrrrr

Good place, but people get mad when they fail a smog check

The place does a good job for all my cars. They even told me what was wrong when my car didn`t pass the smog test (sensor) which I bought, put in, retested and passed. It all says it on the report they give you. For the guy who complained about catalytic converters, it was his responsibility to warm the car up before going there (like drive for 5 minutes dude) or he simply didn`t want to buy a new catalytic conv... view moreerter for hundreds of money. Plus he goes off and blames the workers for it... I mean cmon... the machine does almost all the work, ow are they uneducated? The whole point of smog checks is to have somewhat more environmentally friendly cars on the road and not black/white smoke puffers. I would like to know if rocky actually passed at another place by letting his truck warm up first and prove that his drive to this center (all smog) did not warm up the car enough. Otherwise, he would just be one of the many who owns a car with a bad catalytic converter.

No Smog Express Till Retest!

They are uneducated, ignorant or very ""shady"" smart. It is a well known fact that the hotter a catalytic converter is, the better it works, thus more cars would pass, if they (All Smog) let the cars warm up for longer then just a couple of minutes or at the very least when the temperature gauge moves off the cold indicator side on the dash. More cars passing means less cars to do a retest on. In return, less car... view mores to do a retest on which means less money in the register at the end of the day. So don`t be deceived when a smog mechanic says, ""It does not benefit me if your car fails a smog test."" it does if they charge for a retest even for a lesser price . Further more All Smog in Merced charges less for a retest so you hopefully will return to them rather than going to start over somewhere else. If they really want to say they don`t benefit if your car fails, rechecks should be free! I specifically brought in my truck warm and asked to leave it running. They turned off my car, tested it cold, and now I need a retest. I seriously wonder if all employees are legal? I also would like to question the word express. Who cares if it is done fast, if it is not done well, and you have to do it again. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM!
