A Disappointment

I have been going to Drive Rite for ten years now and hate to say but I am very disappointed in what happened to me today. My check engine light came on last Friday, drove my 2003 Highlander straight home and left it parked until this moring (Monday). Tried starting it this am but had no luck...would not start, just made ""clicking"" noises. Called AAA for a tow and informed Drive Rite what had happened since Fri... view moreday. Drive Rite called back a couple of hours later, saying that all I needed was a new battery. Good news...no expensive repairs...right???? Was told that the cost would be $130 for the battery, $25 labor cost and $50 dollars to diagnose the problem. Pretty expensive battery but what can I do...car is imobile and at the shop. Approve the cost.

Pick up the car and discover the ""check engine"" light is still on. Call Drive Rite as soon as I get home and am informed that it would be an ADDITIONAL $95 to diagnose the check engine light. Drive Rite knew from the very beginning that the check engine light was on (gee could it have something to do with the dead battery????), but wants an additional $95 after charging $50 to tell me I have a dead battery.

I had always felt confident that I could trust Drive Rite and they would not pad their bills...guess times have changed since I first started taking my car to Hari, but rest assured I will never take another car to Drive Rite. They have just lost two customers, both me and my husband.
