Are they really experienced?
Several years ago, I had a P0171 trouble code on my Lexus. Unfortunately, at the time, I did not know much about cars and I was fooled into paying for a 3 hour labor job. For those who don`t know, P0171 generally means there is an issue with the Mass Air Flow Sensor. They ended up running a myriad of tests indirectly on the sensor to locate the problem - which just turned out to be a dead sensor. Running a gambit by ... view morethe book is what they did, and this is exactly what should not have been done by an experience service technician group. Checking the MAF should`ve been the first thing for P0171, and it would have taken an hour tops to remove the sensor, check the diode, clean it, and run it to see if that fixes it.
Also, they apparently had to purchase the most expensive MAF Sensor on the internet ($190), because I can find plenty that are around $100-$130. Recently, the P0171 popped up again, and it took me 30 minutes to remove, clean and replace. It cost me $8 to buy the MAF Sensor cleaner.

Lexus Specialists
I just found this Lexus specialist after 5 years of using the local quick-service place. I knew there was no Lexus dealer in town and thought these were my only options. Once I found Independent Automotive, which deals specifically with Lexus (mine is a 2004), and talked with the owner, Asiri DeSilva, I knew I was on to something good. I was concerned about money, and we talked about what needed to be done and wha... view moret it would cost. Asiri gave me a printed estimate, so no surprises when it came time to pay. The car had to be completely evaluated as it wasn`t originally clear as to what was wrong with it.. I did find out the Fast Lane people were not using Lexus parts when they told me they could. I also had some body work done while Asiri had the car, and it is beautiful. Asiri returned the car to me in wonderful condition. The outside and inside of the car had never looked so good. About a month later my car wouldn`t start, and I debated whether to call AAA or Asiri. I called Asiri first and he diagnosed the problem over the phone. The solution was ultra-simple but involved obscure information that only someone with a *thorough* knowledge of Lexus` would know. I was really blown away by how easy Asiri made it for me.
So, I really have to give a resounding five stars to this business! Thank you, again, Asiri :)

As good as it gets
Been taking care of our two Lexus for years. Does a better job than the dealers at a more than competitive price.
