Incompetent and bad customer service! My car would not start and 951 automotive said it was the alternator. He (mechanic with a wanna be Chuck Liddell mohawk, possibly the owner) offered to fix it for $265 and promised it to be done in 2 hours. I was busy so I paid him up front to change it. 6 hours later he was finally done. The car started but EVERY warning light in the dash was on. It would not go into gear an... view mored the power steering was not working. The mechanic said "the computer needs to be reset by the dealer". So I have it towed to the Toyota dealer who scanned it and found that it did not need to be ?ˆ?reset ?ˆ?; a fuse was blown inside of the computer. Not a regular fuse your dad showed you how to change when you were 12, a fancy expensive one that you have to disassemble the ECU to get to. According to Toyota, the reason the fuse blew is the mechanic likely did not disconnect the battery and shorted the wires. Long story short, I had to pay the dealer $440 to fix it. A few days later, I went back to 951 Automotive (I wanted to wait a little while so that I could calm a little). I explained what happened with the hopes that he would at least issue a partial refund. He immediately got defensive and told me that there is no way he could have caused the problem and ?ˆ?you can?ˆ™t put that on me?ˆ?. He did not even look at the paperwork I brought from Toyota. I told him that he gives great customer service and he replied with ?ˆ?go f*** yourself?ˆ?. Very professional. So, to summarize, I paid him $265, it took way longer than estimated, I had to have it towed out of there, pay a real mechanic $440 to fix his mistake, and got told to go f*** myself.
