After a long search, the only people I can trust
As a woman, its become darn near impossible to find a repair place that I dont think is gonna rip me off. I found one now. I was told somewhere else that I needed to do like almost $2000 worth of work to my car. My friend said that he always used Amco and that they were good, so I went there. They fixed the problem by just reconnecting some wires that the other place had disconected. I dont want to say the n... view moreame of the other place because I dont want to advertise for them either, but I know it was them. Since then, my mom and dad have both taken their cars there, and my dad says they are the best.

Not always the best value....
My check engine light was on. I took it in and they quoted me $450 to replace a faulty Air Flow Mass sensor. I did my homework, bought the sensor for $100 and replaced the sensor my self. I did not even know where it was, but went to youtube and did it myself in 20 minutes. So, they were charging me $350 for a 20 minute job!!!! You tell me if that is fair!

People you can trust
In all honesty, the only reason I chose Aamco is because my check engine light was on, I was new to the area and Aamco had a big sign out front advertising a free check. Two years later, I am still a customer of Aamco Valencia. The ownership and management of the shop have taken the time to know both me and my vehicles and give what I consider to be a personal level of service that is not seen very often. The ch... view moreeck engine light was related to my thermostat. I had previously gotten a quote from a make specific repair shop in town. Aamco was half the price of the other guys. This confirmed that I would be returning. When the water pump on my vehicle failed, because of where the failure was (on the back of the part), it took some time for them to find out it was the water pump. Over the course of the week they had the vehicle, I received frequent updates of the status and, once they discovered the issue, the repair was completed quickly. They saved the pump for me so that I could see for myself the cause for all the trouble. Skip even called to suggest that I go ahead and replace the timing belt at that time so that I could save myself the additional labor in the future. He could have easily kept that to himself, knowing that I would have to come back for another $4-500 repair. They also replaced the previously replaced thermostat under warranty just in case the failure of the water pump had damaged it. A week later, I brought the car in for an oil change and within 60 seconds of my walking in the door, the owner called the shop (he had seen me pulling in) concerned that the repair had failed. Skip reassured him that I was simply getting an oil change. Recently, I felt my car was idling roughly. I brought it in and they took it for a test drive but couldn`t get the car to repeat the problem (Murphy`s Law). We discussed it and they recommended that I keep an eye on it & return if I noticed the problem again. A week later, when I had not returned, Jorge called to check in with me to make sure everything was OK with the car. Who does that anymore? With most places now, you are in and out and then promptly forgotten. But not at Aamco Valencia. I am always greeted with a smile and a hello and Jorge makes sure I am taken care of right away. We purchased an extended warranty on our newer vehicle. I recently found out that Aamco will accept this warranty. I was very happy that I do not have to go to the dealership for anything anymore. No matter what the issue is, I don`t have to worry that I will have a surprise ""inspection charge"" with Aamco like I do at the dealership. While I fully understand that there are overhead costs and salaries to be paid, never underestimate the power of a free inspection. I feel comfortable taking my vehicle to Aamco for any issue and I know they won`t charge me $80 or more to tell me nothing is wrong or that it is something as simple as a $3 lightbulb (which they have also replaced for me - at no charge - in the past). They will also not hesitate to tell me that they can`t find any issue rather than making something up just to make money. My husband says that Aamco is the family doctor for our cars - we take both of our vehicle there for everything from routine maintenance to major issues and will continue to do so.

Honest service
This was the only shop in Tucson that would answer the phone on Sunday. My car failed while I had my two daughters in the car. They sent a tow truck to pick me up. And was very grateful when the owner showed up and drove us home. This kind of service is no longer expected. I recommend them. It has been two weeks since we got the car back and it drives beautifully. They even took it to the car wash before delivering i... view moret.

Horrible service
My wife took our car into this shop because the said they could do a free inspection. They looked at the car in the parking lot and said it needs a complete transmission rebuild and she shouldn?ˆ™t drive it or she will do more damage. I was out of town so she had them give her a ride home. I talked to her that night and she told me what happened. I called the next morning and talked to Luis.(just like the guy leaving t... view morehe good reviews) he said the transmission was bad and he could put one in for about $2200.00. I decided to call the dealer and, they said a rebuilt transmission for my car was about $3800.00 installed. I expect the dealer to cost a little more but this was a big difference so I decided to get a second opinion. I had my wife go to pick up the car and take it to another shop that a friend of mine had used. When she showed up they had already started removing the transmission without any authorization form my wife or myself and when she said she was going to get another opinion Luis said he knew that other shop and that they did terrible work he went on and on about his shop was to only place that knew what they were doing. Luis charged us over $200.00 to put the car back together and when we went to the other shop they replaced a solenoid and it works fine now. I would not advise anyone to use this shop the guy Luis is defiantly a hot head and he might be the cheapest guy in town but you will get what you paid for at least we did.

Honest Repairs on the Southside!
I had a couple of shops shoot me prices for repairs on my 2001 Ford Mustang. They were all around $2100 to $2400. After checking the car out, AAMCO fixed the problem by just removing an aftermarket part that I had installed in the car. They took the part off, replaced it for a new one, and only charged me for the part. Ever since then, I`ve taken my other cars and have gotten the same honest service 100% of t... view morehe time. I`ll tell anyone that asks me...go to aamco!
