Reviews:
Avondale pep boys are Coconuts!!
This place needs help! Besides waiting 20 minutes to check my vehicle in because only one of 7 front employees could possibly check me in. I brought my truck for rear brake adjustment and brake bleed after the brakes were replaced. I received a update that since my fluid smelled like coconuts that they would not service my vehicle. Not sure if that is the technical reference per pep boys manual...but they told me... view more to take it and go to the dealer. The invoice was for "fluid exchange"...which means old fluid out new fluid in...maybe a fluid test would have been a more appropriate measurement of the fluid vs coconut smell...after talking with service manager, I decided that even if they were to do the work...it would not make me happy because of their diagnostic vernacular left more questions than answers. Took keys and truck next door to brake masters...even with 2 people ahead of me ...5 minutes to turn keys over, 30 minutes to service and $30 cheaper....with a fluid viscosity check which showed my fluid needed changed not because of smell but because of the properties were less than optimal. I guess I should have looked at some of these reviews beforehand. Pep boys did not charge me for the invoice but this experience will prevent me from using them in the future...not what I expected by the way myself, the Brake master tech, nor the owner were were to smell coconuts!....
