Reviews:

I have had two experiences with KC automotive, and neither have been favorable. While they have completed the repairs I needed, the level of customer service they choose to provide is regrettable at best. Additionally, they have failed to stick to their estimates both times I have worked with them, and in both cases, did not even bother telling me until the work was already done. The woman at the front counter seems ... view moreto be trying her best to cover for the lack of communication with the mechanics, but it was simply not good enough. Unfortunate, because they are very near my home, and it would have been nice to have a local, reliable mechanic. The first time I went, I was struck by the fact that they told me Jeep builds their vehicles wrong, and that they make it impossible to do repairs the right way. They also told me that my fluids would continue to leak for a couple days, and not to worry about it. It leaked for over a month. No one ever answered the phone when I called, or returned my calls when they said they would, and when it came time to pick up my vehicle I was told "well we had to do a few extra things to make it work, so its going to be an extra $200." The second time, I did a lot of research and read reviews and discovered that KC has one of the highest ratings for Prescott valley, seemingly having built up clientele for years, and rapport of begin one of the best priced repair shops. Hopeful that my first experience was a fluke, I tried KC again, this time for a warning light on my dash. We went twelve rounds and over three weeks of them telling me everything from the transmission needed repaired or replaced to the whole thing basically being scrap metal before I spoke to the owner, Con. He then informs me that he thinks its my torque converter, and that it was difficult to tell because they don`t actually have a transmission specialist on staff and they had to call around and do more research (why would they not tell me that and refer me elsewhere?!). He`s going to replace that, and "see how it goes." There were whole periods of time (days and days) where my vehicle just sat around waiting to be fixed while they "did research" or "changed their minds about what was best." All the while, them never answering the phone or calling me back when they said, and me having to pry information from them about what was going on. I ended up having to take the jeep to the dealer just to get a second opinion. My estimate at KC fluctuated daily, with them changing their minds about what they wanted to do. all in all I spent about twice what I originally anticipated spending. It took the dealer about 4 hours to diagnose the same issue. I don`t know why my experience seems to be so vastly different from the ones I have read, but I will never return to KC. I would rather pay a little more and be treated like I have a right to know and a say in what happens to MY vehicle.

Couldn`t even get a quote
I went here to get a quote for some work after seeing mostly good reviews. They took my e-mail address and said they would send me the price that evening. I never heard from them. If writing a short e-mail is too much effort, then I have to wonder how willing they are to to a good job on my vehicle. The last place that couldn`t be bothered with calling me with a quote is out of business.

The Best Most Reliable and Honest Auto Repair
These guys are the best! I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee and was having fuel pump type problems. Another auto repair shop told me it they would ""have"" to replace my fuel pump for ""approximately"" $700.00 but it would not be a guaranteed fix because the fuel pump test wasn`t definite. So I brought my Jeep to KC Auto Repair based on friends` rave reviews. They told me that since the fuel pump test wasn`t conclusiv... view moree that they would like to do some more checking. It turns out there was some kind of wire that was crimped (when it shouldn`t be) and it wasn`t real easy to see. Anyway, instead of spending ""approximately"" $700.00 to replace a fuel pump I didn`t really need I spent less than $100.00 on a repair that I DID need. That repair was done earlier this year (2011) and I haven`t had a problem since. And every time I`ve been back to KC Auto I get the same great service. Thank you KC Auto Repair!!

KC Auto Rocks!
My husband passed away 3 years ago and I`ve been dreading the moment when I would have to take one of our vehicles in to be repaired, simply because you hear all the horror stories of how people get ripped off by mechanics. After some research, i went with KC Auto and I`m so glad I did! Prices were very reasonable, the people are very friendly and knowledgeable. My Dad used to be a mechanic and he says, if you find a... view more good, honest mechanic, stick with them! I intend to.

GREAT SHOP
We`ve been going to this shop for many years and, in fact, our family`s third generation is now customers of this shop. They have been nothing but honest and reasonably priced and have always stood behind their work. We wouldn`t go anywhere else!
