Anchorages worst repair shop
On March 13, I took my GMC to Midas on Northern Lights. The reason for the visit was because the ABS light was on. They said it needed ball joints and other work. I said the ball joints had been replaced three times already. They assured me that they only used top quality parts and they would warrenty them for 12 months/12,000 miles. After less than 1,550 miles and 2 1/2 weeks the ball joints were again bad. Th... view moreey said to bring it back. I did and they said the ball joints were bad. I told them I was not going to put more money into the truck. The manager stood there and never identified himself as the manage. I told them I had to have the truck back by 4 pm. I told him my plan was to sell it for junk. Never did he say that if you sale it they will not stand behind it or refund any of my funds,
The bottom line is I was ripped off for $3,626.97. They did a bad job. Next time I will find a honest repair company.

""We only go above and beyond if specifically requested""
We took our vehicle into this shop a few weeks ago to get an alignment, and winter tires put on. On the board Midas claims that they do a ""Midas Courtesy Fluid Check"" among other ""courtesy"" checks while they service your vehicles.
Two weeks later our car broke down. The engine was completely frozen up and totaled, and it only had one cup of oil in it. It now will need a whole new engine, costing us well ov... view moreer 5,000.
We went back to Midas to ask them if they would explain why we weren`t aware of the low oil level since they did the ""Courtesy Check"", and to ask if they would at least re-imburse us for the tire change as the vehicle is now totalled. This is what the manager at Midas told us:
""We only go above and beyond if specifically requested to do so""
- Enough said, DO NOT go to Midas

One stop and friendly!
I TRUST Midas. They are fast, helpful. accurate.
I blew a radiator hose and they had me fixed so quickly that I still made my appointment that I had scheduled.
Just took the SUV in for a major work over and I know they will be fast, reasonable, and do the work that they are paid for unlike my last mechanic.
