I made a very costly mistake w...

I made a very costly mistake when I bought a truck on Ebay from Jasper Auto Sales. The Ebay pictures looked great and it was a 1990 Toyota SR5 with only 150,000 miles on it. I`d had 2 Toyota trucks before this one and they were the best vehicles I ever had. The dealership painted a glowing picture of a local 2 owner truck that he`d known personally all its life and here was the rare opportunity to get an older - t... view moreried and true - reliable Toyota truck with low miles. I gave almost twice the Blue Book value for it but, hey - rare opportunites are worth a little extra - ok, alot extra - if the truck fits the description. I put most of my faith in Toyota and most of my trust in the honesty of the dealer`s description. I bought a one-way plane ticket to Alabama from Missouri - arrived at the lot to meet the Good Old Boy Smiling Mr. Accomodating I`ll Do Anything For Ya I`m Full of S--t Used Car Salesman and I had a bad feeling before I got off the lot. I did make it back to Missouri but, I don`t think I was lucky. I had to floorboard it to go 70mph downhill on the interstate and was lucky to be going 55mph at the top of the next one. By the time I got to Tennessee, I couldn`t hear the radio over the noise of the fan. I bought the truck on Nov. 7th - by the end of January the engine had blown - the head was cracked and all the gaskets blown. I`d driven it about 2000 miles. Mr. Good Old Boy switched personalities. He told me it was their policy to pay half and offered me $250. He said I could get it fixed for $500. I said that was impossible and he implied that I was unable to calculate that $250 was half of $500 and I was wasting his valuable time. Then he had already been too generous because I`d bought the truck "as is". But, when you buy a vehicle on Ebay, your "as is" is what the Good Old Boy puts in his description. And 6 owners is 4 more than 2 and, if you don`t know the truck had 6 owners, you weren`t personally acquainted with it, either. And if you didn`t know you had to floorboard it to go 60mph, you either never bothered to drive it and didn`t care if your "as is" description was totally inaccurate or you deliberately misrepresented the truck.. Because I was willing to allow myself to be insulted everytime Icontacted him, I eventually received $750. I had to rely on my father to fix the truck for me. I was without a vehicle from Feb until almost the end of June. My father wouldn`t tell me what the final bill was but, I`m sure it was between $2200 and $2600. I drove the truck for 2 months and the first of September the transmission went out of it. I have been on foot again for over a month. Nov. 7th, I will have had the truck for a year. It`s been operable 5 months and about 4000 miles. If I could have one wish - I wish I`d never heard of Jasper Auto Sales in Jasper, Alabama and the Good Old Boy who has vehicles that are a rare opportunity - if you like nightmares and paying triple the Blue Book so you can walk. I give Jasper Auto Sales 0 stars and 100 thumbs down. The only reason there`s a star on here is because it made me do one to submit this.
