What can I say about Bruce Key? Bruce is a gentle old soul who passionately serves the Volkswagen driving community. He dearly loves the affordable car of the people and has many Beetles and Buses (as well as Rabbits, Golfs, Cabbies, Sciroccos, Jettas, Foxes, Dashers, Things, Ghias, Quantums, and Vanagons) to choose from for inexpensive parts and/or restoration. Not to mention...well I`m gonna mention it...he has ... view morethe most efficient and personable mechanic serving the air-cooled VW driver and enthusiast. His name is Doyle Grizzard and he is a fellow bus driver, and he doesn`t mind getting his hands dirty on an old Transporter. He knows the pancake engine inside and out, and I`ve never seen a quicker or more meticulous mechanic who genuinely loves keeping those breadbox beasts on the road. Bruce and Doyle are patient with their customers when it comes to pick up and delivery. (I have left my bus there for a few days upon completion until I was able to arrange a ride to pick it up, and Doyle and Bruce had no problem with working with me on that.) I have also paid them for their labor without a ride and upon my return they had left the key in a certain place for me to find and drive my bus home.

Another important point to mention: the VW community knows all about recycling parts. If ever you have a VW that you can no longer maintain or is wrecked, call Bruce. He has yet to turn me down for selling parts cars to him. He is happy to get them and he is more than fair with the price he pays.

Bottom line: if you need it he`s got it, or knows where you can find it. If you need it repaired or replaced he can provide that service as well. Routine maintenance is a must with VWs and all I have to do is make an appointment for the work, and all I have to say to identify myself is: ""You know, Bruce, I`m the guy with the multi-colored trippy bus."" To which he always replies: ""Bring `er on over, we`ll fix it up for ya.""
