To Kelley2346 we live in the U.S a country based on capitalism. Of course AAMCO is going to charge a higher price for a part. It is called trying to make a profit. Mechanics are human beings and fallible. They made a mistake on your car they sent a tow truck and fixed it. What is your problem then and how much more could you ask of someone. I feel you have unrealistic expectations of a repair facility and as an ASE M... view moreaster Technician I am glad you are not one of my customers.

I wouldn`t recommend this place to anyone. The customer service is good but their prices on parts are ridiculously expensive. I am now the type of person to call the auto parts store to see how much they charge for it and then compare it to what the mechanics charge for it. I am not sure the people that wrote the good reviews did that. This place is the reason I now check the auto parts store before paying for a part... view more at the mechanics. Unless the mechanics will give it to you for the same price they got it for, it is cheaper to buy it from the auto parts store and take it to them to fix. Aamco charged me $395 for a fuel pump when it cost $245 for them to buy it. I of course found that out after the fact. $245 is the price they get it for. $280 is the price we could have gotten it for with our military discount at Advance Auto Parts. $309 is the price that civilians would get it for. Talk about getting ripped off!!! I actually went to Aamco several times and kept my invoices, now looking back on them, I saw another part that cost $120 at an auto parts store that they charged me $300 for....the list goes on and on. Just be smart about going to any mechanic and paying for parts, they will charge you an arm and a leg if you aren`t careful. Not to mention, after paying all that money to get my fuel pump replaced, their mechanic, Kenny, didn`t install it right and they next day after I brought it home it wouldn`t start and it smelled like gasoline really really bad. I had to call them and they had to get a tow truck to come and get my car because Kenny didn`t install it properly and it was leaking gas. Also, Jason acted like they were doing me a favor for sending a tow truck out to get my car.....ummm...that is their fault so they damn well better send a tow truck to get my car!! I also had my kids in the car with me at that time...talk about unsafe!!! Anyway, all in all, bad prices and not even a trust worthy mechanic. Don`t go there.

Honest, Trustworthy, Respecful
I took my car to have slippage checked. Sales guy offered to drive me home while car was worked on. Filled me in on potential problems and cost throughout the process. Replaced catalytic converter and checked tranny, which was fine. Didn`t find "additional problems" like many other places. Will definitely go back.
