Reviews:

I had the worse attempted automotive service experience with Wherry`s Auto & Small Engine Service on 4600 Sam Dr., Northwest, Huntsville, AL 35811. I experienced poor customer service from Wherry?ˆ™s Auto by lack of communication, unauthorized service being performed, the work that I wanted to be performed on my vehicle was never performed, and it took 6 days for me to receive my vehicle back for a 2-4 hour service... view more job that was never performed. This business has terrible management, is not professional, and has poor unethical skills. Wednesday, May 13, 2013 my vehicle was delivered to have my wheel bearings replaced. No one started working on the vehicle that day. Thursday, May 14, 2013 I went to Wherry`s to get my work badge I forgot. The employees were sitting down, some watching television. No one was working. My vehicle was on the lift, but no work has been performed. Wherry called me around 6:30 PM for me to come to the shop so that he could explain what was going on. He would not tell me over the phone. 8:00 PM one of the mechanics told me that I needed two new carrier bearings, a pinion bearing, one new axle, and that there was a lot of play in the rear end. I have not experienced any of the symptoms that are associated with a bad pinion bearing or carrier bearing. The mechanic and the owner/manager Wherry did not have any prices for labor or parts, which should have been ready. I called the shop late morning Friday, May 15, 2013 when I did not hear from anyone. Wherry told me that someone would call me in two minutes with the prices. No one called. I called about two hours later and one of the workers told me that she would have Wherry call me when he gets in. I never received a telephone call from Wherry or anyone else. I called again and was told no one has any price quotes or performed any work. Saturday, May 17, 2013 I told Wherry to put my vehicle back together. Monday, May 20, 2013. Wherry charged me $123.59 that includes labor. I should have not had to pay for anything because they did not replace my wheel bearings or perform any service, because his workers were too slow, lazy, would not show up for work, addicted to drugs, and would not do anything. He charged me money to replace the rear end fluid. I know that the fluid was not bad because I had changed the fluid myself. I did not give anyone authorization to do any work on my vehicle, expect change the wheel bearings. By this time it has been over 120 hours for a 2 to 4 hour job. I paid $123.59 for fluid I did not give permission to change, no service, and no repairs made. One of his mechanics told me that my vehicle was just sitting in the shop because they could not find the worker that was supposed to work on my vehicle, and that he would not come to work; he wanted to work on it because he wanted the money for a simple maintenance job. He stated that he did not agree with the other mechanic that I need to replace my carrier bearings and pinion bearing my vehicle had a normal amount of acceptable wear. Wherry should have had an available worker replace my wheel bearings. That would have been the simple solution if that was the problem. After I paid for nothing I drove my vehicle from Wherry?ˆ™s shop to Heads-Up Automotive & Detailing on 109 Benson Circle Northwest, Huntsville, AL 35806 to have them replace my wheel bearings. Carlos at Heads-Up Automotive replaced my wheel bearings, put some more fluid in my rear end because it was low, and had my vehicle ready and back to normal within one day. I recommend Heads-Up. I will never take my vehicle to Wherry?ˆ™s Auto & Small Engine Service for anything and I recommended that no one go there for any type of service including repairing a lawn mower. Wednesday, May, 15, 2013 when I was waiting in the lobby area of the shop to be pickup by someone, a previous customer came to the shop because his lawn mower was not repaired properly. He was having the same problems as before.
