Went looking to buy a grand Cherokee and found the Landers guys and gals were easy to do business with. Paperwork took a little too long but other than that it was great. My GC rocks by the way!

False Advertising

I contacted Landers McLarty through the messaging system on their site. I asked about a particular type of preowned vehicle and was told that they had 3-4 of that vehicle on their lot in the price range that I was looking for. Once we arrived at the dealership (one hour later), they had already sold all 4 of them (hmmmmm). They then tried to upsale us on another vehicle which was beyond what I was willing to pay. BUT... they could put us in a vehicle that was 8000 more than what we were looking to spend. I have bought from them before, but I will never buy from them again since they lie to you just to get you into the dealership..... STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

Pressure Sales

Went in to look at a new 2011 Compass. Couldn`t get it to the price I wanted. Saw a 2008 Liberty, signed the paperwork, could not finalize as I had to be at work. Asked them to fax and was told an hour later...""I`ve been so busy I dun forgots about you"" Told them I would be back Monday morning to sign and take possession. Never got my $1500.00 down payment back

I went to Bessemer Chrysler Jeep Dodge almost a year ago and applied for a loan on a jeep. I signed the papers and drove off the lot. A month went by and 2000 miles later they call me wanting to get an oil change and etc. Brought the jeep up there which they said my loan didn`t go through and they were taking it back. Which they stated they were giving me my $1500.00 down payment back. I took the money from my income... view more tax check and paid them with the credit card they supply you with and I NEVER received any of that money back. I have went to a lawyer and received a letter stating that they cannot fight for my money back because of how this economy has been. I am very furious because it did not only put me out $1500.00 it put me saving up for another vehicle and I lost my job because I could not get to work. I am continuing to search for a lawyer to help me gain my money back but BEWARE-this has happened to many other people too. They are even still sending me papers on warranty and oil changes. Still have the key but no jeep and no money.
