2006 Scion Xa Base Hatchback 5-door 1.5l Manual Transmission, Excellent Commuter on 2040-cars
Lutz, Florida, United States
This car isn't perfect but will make a great commuter or light duty work vehicle. Several cosmetic issues (see pictures) but mechanically sound and VERY good on gas. Rear seats fold flat and create a surprisingly large cargo area for a small car. I have a tow-hitch specifically for this vehicle if desired to carry small trailers or bicycles etc...you'll need to install it. Backseat interior has some damage along the window trims from a puppy chewing and the rear seat belts were removed for safety reasons after these were also chewed upon. Otherwise the interior is in good shape. Cloth seats look good, carpets are clean and include rubber floor mats. I have a rear cargo mat that covers the rear seats when folded flat that I can also include if desired. A/C leaks freon and is not currently blowing cold air. TIRES ARE BRAND NEW. Aftermarket stereo head unit and front speakers sound good. Due for oil change now.
Car is reliable and needs nothing to be functional, but repairing the a.c would obviously make it more comfortable. Older car, SOLD AS IS. NO WARRANTY IS OFFERED OR IMPLIED. |

Toyota profits up 23% on high US sales, despite mounting legal costs
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Toyota earned $9.3 billion in net income in the financial year that ends next month. The number beats earlier forecasts and marks a five-year high for the automaker, with both operating income and revenue up by 9.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. Toyota saw quarterly profit enjoy a year-on-year jump of 23.4 percent, with the manufacturer earning more than $1 billion between October and December 2012. The good news comes in spite of the fact that the Japanese automaker actually endured an operating loss in North America, due in part to legal fees.
Toyota is set to pay more than $1 billion to owners who claim their vehicles decreased in value as a result of the company's recent spate of recalls. Even so, all three of the automaker's brands enjoyed a 13.5 percent sales increase in the US in the last quarter, beating the industry average. Toyota faltered in Europe, however, where it earned $99 million in operating profit last year, compared to $111 million in 2011. You can take a closer look at the company's full press release below for more information.
New drifting world record set in Toyota GT86
Wed, 30 Jul 2014We have entered a drifting arms race. Last year, BMW smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest drift by hanging the tail out for 51.3 miles around a wet skid pad in an M5 at the BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina. That beat the previous milestone of nearly seven miles. Now, Bimmer's record is up in smoke as well and is in the possession of a Toyota.
German driver Harald Müller pummeled the old record to drift for 89.55 miles around a 0.15-mile (235.5-meter) course in Samsun, Turkey, in a Toyota GT86 (or Scion FR-S as it's known in the US). According to the Guinness World Records website, it took him 612 laps and 2 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds to manage the achievement. Sit back to watch a few minutes of the German's two and a half hours behind the wheel with the tail out.
Santa swaps his sleigh for a Ferrari-powered Toyota
Fri, Dec 23 2016A Ferrari-powered Toyota 86 is sure to garner a bit of attention, as well it should. We've been paying attention throughout this build, so it should be no surprise then that Santa did as well. He's ditched his red sleigh for the Gumout GT4586 in this video. If you've been following along, you know that Ryan Tuerck and Gumout built this completely bonkers machine that's far more exciting than some previous Japanese/Italian mash-up automobiles. Donut Media has been doing their part to document and promote every stage of the process. This new video is filled with the gratuitous amounts of lights, noise, and tire smoke that Donut is known for. We don't know the conversion from horsepower to reindeerpower, but the GT4586 should provide plenty of oomph for Santa's Christmas trek.
