Car Show-ready Xb W/ Sliding Roof 18in Boyd Coddington Wheels Airbag Suspension on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:79600 Color: along with a little hot rod pinstriping
Location:

Irvine, California, United States

Irvine, California, United States

To kick things off, the owner wanted his xB to be pavement level which is accomplished with EasyStreet air struts in the front and EasyStreet bags and brackets in the rear. Now this wicked mini-suv lays down nicely over a set of Boyd 18x8-inch Smoothie II wheels with Kumho 215/35/18 rubber providing the traction.  Even though this box sits low, it can be picked back up to stock height (or higher) with the flick of a switch, making it a practical daily driver during the week, and a force to be reckoned with at the weekend car shows.

Shaved all the factory badges and Putco billet grille inserts were bolted into place. A StreetBeat Customs 40-inch by 70-inch sliding ragtop was worked into the roofline to let the sun shine in. However, the most noticeable thing about this Scion is the Black Sand Pearl paint topped off with a set of hot rod flames. The flames consist of House of Kolor Majik Blue that fades into Passion Purple with Reflex Blue providing a nice pinstripe outline.

All the plastic interior parts were painted and pinstriped to match the outside and a set of Autometer gauges from XBgauges.com were installed. A Billet Specialties steering wheel replaces the stock steering device and a Boomerang custom center console with a TRD short shifter, sits snugly between the bucket seats. A Katzkin black and blue two-tone theme covers the interior parts with custom flamed door inserts, and floor mats. A blue suede headliner and A,B,C pillars finish the interior. Blue StreetGlow neon and LED lighting set the interior off in the evening hours at automotive shows and cruise-ins.

An Alpine in-dash LCD screen double din DVD head unit. A custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosure was constructed for the rear storage area that contains two 10-inch Type-R Alpine subs and a 4-channel Alpine amp, the finishing of the subwoofer box/amp mount is painted to match the exterior along with a little hot rod pinstriping. Alpine 7-inch LCD monitors were installed in each front seat headrest and the stock speakers were replaced with 6.5-inch Alpine component Type-R speakers. One of the most interesting modifications is the mounting location of the two Alpine mono-amps which are mounted in the rear side windows.

Under the hood, the Toyota 1NZ 1.5L four cylinder engine has a few performance and visual upgrades. On the performance side of things, a cold air intake was bolted into place along with a custom header, lighten crank pulley, and a Borla exhaust system.
The tab for this build was over $30k. Selling it for a screaming deal and hope to get it in the hands of an owner who will continue to keep it looking show quality.
I am open to trades - please text or email me pictures with detailed descriptions of what you are looking to trade.

Scion gets weird with '70s-inspired xB and Slayer tC at SEMA

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

Scion certainly isn't afraid of taking a step into the bizarre at this year's SEMA Show, with at least two concepts that are probably the last thing you would expect from the brand.
First, the company is taking a step back into the 1970s heyday of custom vans with the Scion x Riley Hawk Skate Tour xB seen above. It's painted in an eye-popping shade of orange with an oh-so-retro white, yellow and card red stripe running down both sides. The fenders are connected by a streak of brown, and there's a pop-up skateboard holder on the roof in a matching color scheme to the rest of the body. The Cragar-look wheels trimmed in raised white letter tires and the throwback mirrors really sell the period look. The interior is similarly decked out in disco-era touches like shag carpeting, woodgrain trim and brown leather. In a nod towards the modern, there's a Pioneer media center in the back.
If the xB is too sunshine-feel-good for your style, then the Scion x Slayer Mobile Amp tC goes for an angrier vibe, with inspiration from the heavy metal band Slayer. The exterior is inky black with airbrushed skulls running over each side and the band's crossed-swords emblem on the hood. The motif is carried to the wheels with their blade-shaped spokes. When the custom's suicide doors open, you find a massive Pioneer sound system with a tower of speakers inside that should be loud enough to deafen anyone tempted to turn it up to 11.

Scion's would-be savior C-HR spied before its Toyota rebadging

Wed, Feb 3 2016

Scion is dead, but one of its future products, the C-HR concept, is still in development for launch as a Toyota. Toyota does a thorough job of hiding the C-HR's rakish shape on these test cars, but we can spot the concept's design cues. For example, the pointed nose and narrow headlights are present, and the giant box on the roof can't hide the downward arch for the coupe-like rear. The back doors on these examples look larger than before, which suggests a switch to a traditional five-door body rather than the hidden rear openings on the concept. The change would offer easier access to the backseat and make the C-HR a better competitor in the segment against vehicles like the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, and Jeep Renegade. The C-HR debuted as a boldly styled three-door crossover at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Toyota later restyled the CUV with a more angular shape and extra doors. We most recently saw the compact crossover with Scion branding at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. Rumors suggest the production model's debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and it could arrive at dealers in the latter half of 2016. The powertrain lineup likely consists of a four-cylinder engine with a CVT and possibly a hybrid version, too. You'll also get to see the C-HR on the track because Toyota will race the crossover in the 2016 Nurburgring 24 Hours. Related Video:

Leaked Toyota FT-86 Open concept images preview droptop Scion FR-S [w/video]

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Here it is, folks - the highly anticipated Toyota FT-86 Open concept, a precursor to what could become a road-going Scion FR-S convertible. A full smattering of images and video have leaked onto the internet, and thanks to the folks at FT86Club.com, we can now see the new hotness that Toyota will be unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
These images confirm details that were first seen in spy shots captured a couple of weeks ago - namely, the larger wheel/tire package and the inclusion of the Toyobaru coupe's decidedly useless rear seats. These new photos, however, show a two-tone leather interior with goodies such as an iPod/iPhone mount on the dashboard. The concept car is also fitted with the coupe's six-speed automatic transmission (boo!) and FT86Club.com reports that the folding soft top is operated electronically.
We'll have the full details live from Geneva in just a few days. For now, click through our attached image gallery to see lots of pretty pictures of the topless wonder, and scroll down for a video to see the concept in motion.
