Im selling my daily driver, a 2004 scion Xb. This is a special release model. The Scion has no leaks, shakes or check engine lights on. Recently serviced. Ugraded to a set of 18" wheels, two tires were replaced new in august. A new JVC CD player was added over the summer as well. Its a fun car to drive, steering and suspension are tight. The bad: Has two VERY small cracks in the windshield. No previous maintenance records- aside from a couple of oil changes and a new battery and oxygen sensor. Small crack in the rear spoiler. Has a slight ticking in the motor due to high mileage- very common in these engines and has no effect, Scion runs and drives fine. Interior has no rips but shows some wear- will get detailed for new buyer. Truth be told, im still iffy about selling it- I received a decent deal on another car and cant afford to have both. The Xb is a pleasure to drive and gets its share of thumbs up on the road. Now the fine print. PLEASE BID TO OWN, A BID IS BINDING. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. THERE IS NO WARRANTY GIVEN OR IMPLIED. I HAVE DESCRIBED THIS VEHICLE AS BEST I COULD AND WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY MISREPRESENTATION, FEEL FREE TO INSPECT THE SCION BEFORE HAND,IF NEEDED. BIDDERS WITH LESS THAN 5 FEEDBACK OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WILL BE RETRACTED. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME. WINNING BIDDER WILL PAY A $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT AT THE CLOSING OF THE AUCTION AND THE BALANCE WITHIN 48 HOURS.I WILL STORE VEHICLE FOR ONE WEEK AFTER END OF AUCTION,AFTER THAT A STORAGE FEE WILL APPLY. Toyota GT86 convertible on 'indefinite hold'
Sat, 05 Oct 2013Bad news, sportscar fans. According to a new report from What Car?, Toyota has cancelled plans to produce a GT86 convertible, a model based on the FT-86 Open Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. In truth, Toyota never actually confirmed it would produce the budget-friendly droptop in the first place, but rumors have been flying since last year and Toyota reportedly showed its embattled Scion dealers a FR-S version of the convertible in August. Presumably, this means that a lidless variant of the Subaru BRZ is not in the cards, either.
The reason for the move is unknown, though What Car? reports "one possible cause is weight; Toyota did say that further work would be required on rigidity before the convertible could be launched, and that could have added extra bulk that conflict with the regular GT86's ethos of light weight and agile handling." It doesn't look like that work will happen anytime soon, as "sources now say that the car has now been delayed indefinitely, with no place in Toyota's product plan in either 2014 or 2015." Still holding out hope? What Car? says the project could be "fast-tracked" if management decides it wants to reboot the program down the road.

2014 Scion tC
Wed, 14 May 2014Once upon a time, the Scion brand sought to bring more youthful buyers into the Toyota stable. In the early 2000s, Scion launched with its plucky xA and xB hatchbacks, and a lot of people bought into its affordable, customizable, funky lineup - myself included. I was once the proud owner of a 2006 xB, and though the box-on-wheels wasn't really a proper enthusiast machine by any means, I loved its unique driving dynamics, clever packaging and fresh style.
Following those two hatches, Scion released its tC coupe - a modestly sporty little thing that stayed true to the brand's core values of being affordable, neat-looking and endlessly customizable. People really dug the first-generation tC, and with good reason - it offered a bit more personality than a comparable Honda Civic Coupe, effectively the only other two-door compact then on the market from Japan. And for folks who wanted a sporty, low-cost two-door, the tC was a pretty decent buy.
But then Scion changed. The xA was killed and the comparatively frumpy xD bowed as its replacement. The xB was totally renewed, but it got bigger, heavier and less attractive in the process. And then after a few years of standing idle (will we ever see xD/xB replacements?), Toyota birthed the Scion FR-S - a properly sporty, enthusiast-minded rear-drive coupe created with the help of Subaru. I really dig the FR-S - if I had to buy something from the Toyota/Lexus/Scion stable, it's easily the car I'd want. But by offering a properly good two-door package with its new coupe, where has that left the older, front-drive tC?
Scion xB won't live past 2015
Sun, Jun 28 2015The grim reaper has trailed the Scion xB for three years, and in 2015, he swings his scythe. Scion VP Doug Murtha told WardsAuto last week that as of the end of this year, the xB will be gone. It will have lived just one year longer than the Scion xD, which was updated for the 2014 model year and at one point had been expected to live until the end of this year. As we've known for a while, the new Scion iM will replace the once-icon xB. Or perhaps that's 'supersede' the once-icon, since even company brass knows that the iM, which is Europe's Toyota Auris five-door hatchback, isn't a replacement for the unapologetic box that was the xB. The xB was one of the cubic trio – along with the first of its kind here, the Honda Element, and the aptly named Nissan Cube – all of which had a hard time figuring out a second act. The Kia Soul is the last of the proud geometric figures, and six years into its run here it is doing better than ever, 2014 being a record year for the model. The xB was well into its decline after the same amount of time on the market. Cars Direct says that if you want an xB then you shouldn't wait, and, "It might be a good idea to make a move soon." On the other hand, CD advises that "if you're looking for a better deal," then it's the Kia Soul you want. Insert that chestnut here about the mighty, and the falling. Related Video:
