Lets start with the paint. Black Sand Pearl was shot around purple and blue flames. Custom hand pin striping and logos, flames were wrapped into the door jams. Full Air Bag suspension with air struts in the front and bags in the back, 2 three gallon tanks with twin compressors are controlled by Dakota digital gauges. Boyd's wheels made for this car with new tires. The interior is Katskin, Leather and suede included are the seats, dash, headliner and door panels. Custom sliding roof opens 40 x 70 inches (front and rear seats) Stereo.... here is where some big money was spent 3 yes 3 Alpine V12 amps powering 8 Alpine R series speakers. 2 subs reverse mounted in Custom hand made enclosure. Amps mounted on sides and over subs, back lit to show them better. 6in R series speakers in the factory locations makes this car sound ineradicable. Alpine DVD head unit with 7 in screens in the headrests. Additional gel cell battery as well as bass caps keep the subs powered during heavy bass. Power chip, header and Borla exhaust give the Box a little more power and a little rumble. $40,000 + spent building this beauty. Santa swaps his sleigh for a Ferrari-powered Toyota
Fri, Dec 23 2016A Ferrari-powered Toyota 86 is sure to garner a bit of attention, as well it should. We've been paying attention throughout this build, so it should be no surprise then that Santa did as well. He's ditched his red sleigh for the Gumout GT4586 in this video. If you've been following along, you know that Ryan Tuerck and Gumout built this completely bonkers machine that's far more exciting than some previous Japanese/Italian mash-up automobiles. Donut Media has been doing their part to document and promote every stage of the process. This new video is filled with the gratuitous amounts of lights, noise, and tire smoke that Donut is known for. We don't know the conversion from horsepower to reindeerpower, but the GT4586 should provide plenty of oomph for Santa's Christmas trek. Nissan exec Andy Palmer derides Toyobaru coupes as 'midlife crisis' cars
Mon, 28 Oct 2013Andy Palmer, Nissan's executive vice president, does not like the Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ. To us, that's like saying you enjoy barbecuing puppies, but we'll let him slide, because his statements about the Toyobaru twins are much, much more than just idle trash talk.
Speaking to Motor Trend's Nate Martinez, Palmer said, "Do we have any competitors [in the small, rear-drive coupe segment]? Are you talking about the Subaru [BRZ]? It was a car designed for a 50-year-old. It's for a midlife crisis. That's not what we do." Strong words, but what followed was even better.
"Are you coming to the Tokyo Motor Show? You'll see the answer to the midlife crisis. Except it won't be for the midlife crisis." So, if you were wondering whether Nissan is working on a competitor to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, the answer seems to be a resounding "yes."
Toyota recalling 11,200 Scion iQ models over faulty passenger sensors
Wed, 07 Nov 2012Toyota has announced a voluntary recall of 11,200 Scion iQ models from the 2012 and 2013 model years. According to the manufacturer, the problem with these pint-sized hatchbacks concerns the front passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) weight sensor cables.
The OCS sensors in the front passenger seat control the operation of things like the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioner. In these affected models, the cables for these sensors located in the seat track can become damaged as the passenger seat slides forward and backward. And if the cables are damaged, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioner may not function properly.
No injuries or crashes have been reported in conjunction with this issue.
