That's because it allows people just like you to save thousands of dollars off the purchase of a car that while may not be brand new, is certainly the next best thing.Compare the mileage, condition, and price of this vehicle to those sold by other car dealers and you will quickly see for yourself the difference in value this car offers over others. So what exactly does a salvage title or rebuilt title mean? A car with a salvage title means that the insurance company decided not to fix the car and instead chose to pay the owner the full amount of their insurance claim. By declaring a vehicle as a "Total Loss” the insurance company removes themselves from the risk of incurring any liability claims sometime in the future. Does that means the car is totaled and no longer drivable? The answer is, not always. Although an insurance company may consider a car totaled, that doesn't necessarily mean that it is physically totaled and completely unusable anymore. For example, sometimes a car has minor damage, but the parts are very expensive so the cost of repairing the car is greater than the cost to pay off the claim. In finance terms, it is a simple cost-benefit analysis. The insurance companies asks themselves, "Does it cost more to classify the car as totaled and pay the claim in full, or does it cost more to have the car repaired and restored to a brand new condition?" In many cases, it is faster, easier, and cheaper for the insurance company to simply write a check to the car owner and declare the car a total loss than it is to go through the lengthy and costly process of having the car completely restored to a like-new condition. This is especially true for those owners who just purchased a car from a new car dealer and who is charging them full retail price for the privilege of doing so. The car owner is paying for a brand new car and if the work is not done to his or her satisfaction, chances are the car owner will not be happy. The auto body shop will then have to redo the work until the customer is completely satisfied which costs the insurance company even more time and money. It is for precisely situations like this that insurance companies prefer to mitigate their losses by cutting them short. The insurance company and the car owner often mutually agree to classify the vehicle as totaled for a specified amount so that both parties can limit the time and expense of dealing with a car that must be restored to a near perfect condition.Sometimes the owner does not want to get the vehicle repaired because it is faster and easier to go back to the dealer and pick out a brand new car. Depending on the insurance company and the make and model of the car, the insurance company may simply choose to pay the owner in full. Remember, just like any other company, insurance companies are in business to make a profit. Using a cost-benefit analysis approach objectively guides them through the decision making process that it is in the best interests of their company. If a car gets stolen the Insurance company has thirty days to recover the vehicle. If the car is not recovered in thirty days, the company pays off the owner and once the car is recovered, it is brought to the auction as a Total Loss vehicle even if it did not have any damage to it whatsoever. We have purchased 'Total Loss" cars from Insurance companies with door dings, extremely minor fender bender, and theft recovered vehicles with absolutely no damage. In fact, most of the vehicles purchased have very minor damage and NONE of the vehicles purchased have had the air bags deployed. In addition, we do not purchase cars having any kind of flood damage. Finally, we do not buy or sell cars that have had major damage, but instead focus on those only having minor to no damage at all.Rebuilt Titles - Once all of the necessary repairs have been completed, the car is then inspected by an authorized state inspection center to ensure that the repairs have been properly made and that the vehicle is road worthy. Only after a very thorough inspection has been conducted can a rebuilt title be issued. This means that a new owner will not have to have an inspection done to get the car back on the road. It saves a lot of trouble for buyers as they don’t have to get the car inspected or fill out any extra paper work as is the case with a Salvage title. This car has already had all of the repairs completed and has been fully inspected by a Texas state authorized inspection center. This car will come with the necessary paperwork so that when the title is transferred into your name, the newly issued title will be issued as a 'rebuilt title' and not a 'salvage title.' The process is very easy and the new 'rebuilt title' is typically sent to the purchaser within 2 to 3 weeks. In summary, just because the insurance company has designated a vehicle as a Total Loss for financial reasons does not necessarily mean that the car was in a serious accident or that it had extensive damage. Remember that it is in the best interests of the insurance companies to minimize their losses and oftentimes the best way to do that is by declaring the car to be a total loss.Remember, too, that it is in the best interests of new car dealers to keep this insider secret to themselves. After all, their job is to maximize shareholder profits and the way they do that is by selling new cars. The more people like you who discover this little known secret of saving thousands of dollars by buying a car with a rebuilt title, the less money they make for themselves. Given a choice of lining new car dealer's pockets with lucrative profits, or lining your own pockets with thousands of dollars in savings, which would you choose? |

Scion iM Concept bows, production version confirmed for US
Thu, Nov 20 2014Scion has officially pulled the covers off its iM Concept, which is, in reality, a slightly modified version of the Toyota Auris that is already sold outside the United States. It's also a model that is going into production for North America, says Scion, minus, we'd guess, a good bit of the overly aggressive ground effects bits, slammed suspension and oversize wheels. A production iM has been confirmed for the upcoming New York Auto Show, where Scion is also promising a second new production debut, as well. After a substantial lull in its new product cadence (barring the FR-S), it looks like Scion is once again intent on cementing its position as the entry point into the Toyota brand, promising three new models in the next three years. Scion tells us that iM's name is derived from the first letters of the words 'individuality' and 'modern.' More important details like price, powertrain and on-sale date should come later in 2015, but Scion has at least say it "anticipates that a price under $20,000 could make this car enticing to youthful customers," all of which makes it sound like the second coming of the Toyota Matrix to us. Feel free to read more in the press release below and gaze upon the concept in all its Incrediblue glory above. From Concept to Commitment - Scion Announces New Product Plans Production Version of iM Concept to Hit Showrooms Next Year TORRANCE, Calif., (Nov. 19, 2014) – Start planning that next adventure; a new ride is on its way. After revealing the iM Concept car today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Scion announced that a production version of the versatile five-door compact hatchback will be coming to dealerships in 2015. Fans will get a first look at the road-ready, sporty ride – and another new Scion model – at the New York International Auto Show in April. "The two models we're debuting in New York next spring are just the beginning for Scion," said Scion Vice President Doug Murtha. "We plan to bring three new products in three years to our showrooms, offering a variety of exciting options for current and new Scion customers." As a test laboratory for Toyota, Scion attracts those with an independent spirit and desire to stand apart from the crowd. But many of today's consumers between 18-34 years old also value a degree of practicality to support their self-reliance and more mobile lifestyles. Faced with greater independence and less disposable income, they value fun and sensibility in a vehicle choice.
A new Toyota MR2? We want to believe
Thu, Mar 9 2017In the wake of a busy Geneva auto show, the rumor mill is churning, and the latest grist involves one of the most beloved Toyota sports cars of all time. EVO reports that Tetsuya Tada, the chief of the Scion FR-S/Toyota 86 project and a hard-liner about sportscar priorities (light and nimble, but with modest horsepower), wants a third vehicle for Toyota's nascent sporty lineup. Currently, we know there's a Supra-like vehicle in the works, being co-developed with BMW, and the 86 is sticking around. Tada said he'd like a third sportscar to compliment the two we know about, and that he wants it soon. A quick bit of history: Toyota's classic sporty lineup had three components. The most visible was the Supra, whose power and prestige grew as the car evolved from a cushy personal tourer to a high-horsepower, high-technology icon. The Celica was its Clark Kent, more mild mannered but also more accessible and affordable. The third was the MR2, a mid-engined go-kart that lasted for three distinct generations. Each had its charms, and all have their fans. When Tada says that he wants three sportscars in the lineup, we already know about the Supra successor, and the 86 is already filling the Celica's role, so the blank is easy to fill. It doesn't sound like Tada spoke the word "MR2" to EVO, or hinted that the car would be mid-engined, but Tada doesn't seem to say anything without purpose. Whatever the layout, this third car – if it comes to fruition – will probably play a role similar to the MR2 in relation to its stablemates. To translate: it'll likely be even lighter and more nimble, and probably less powerful, than the 86. The closest real-world analogue to the pure MR2 ideal is the Honda S660, a mid-engined Kei roadster that's on sale in Japan right now. It's light, small, and powered by a 0.66-liter inline-three. Toyota could decide to directly compete with the S660, borrow an engine from its small-car specialist subsidiary Daihatsu, and produce a mid-engined MR2. Another possibility, even simpler from Toyota's perspective, would be to adapt the existing Daihatsu Copen roadster. Sure, it's front-engine and front-wheel drive, but it's a small, light roadster. And even better, it sells abroad with a larger 1.3-liter engine. Restyle it slightly, perhaps to resemble the S-FR concept of a couple years ago, and it's an off-the-shelf solution. The S-FR itself is a third possibility.
Toyota Pro/Celebrity race switching from Scion tC to FR-S [w/video]
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Toyota has announced that the rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S will replace the front-wheel-drive Scion tC as the racecar used by actors, singers and celebrities of all grades in its annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race. It's the first time a rear-drive vehicle has been used for the event in 27 years, with the tC having been in use since 2005, and the FWD Celica before that. This year's race takes place on April 20th amidst the festivities of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend.
The racing FR-S, which debuted today at the Chicago Auto Show, won't be left stock either, but rather outfitted with a range of official Toyota Racing Development parts and equipment, such as a stainless steel exhaust, new coil overs and springs, upgraded brakes, a bigger air intake and 18-inch wheels, not to mention all of the safety equipment required to keep the celebrities and pro drivers safe. The company says the performance mods have lifted horsepower to 210 from the standard car's 200. Check out the build process for the cars in the video below to see just how much work's been done.
The Toyota Pro/Celebrity race is also about more than just letting celebrities and pros do battle on a road course. The spectacle helps raise money for "Racing for Kids," a non-profit charity that supports children's hospitals in the US.
