Up for auction is my 2012 Scion TC with NO RESERVE. I bought this car a few months back with plans to restore it to its natural condition. The Scion was hit on the front passenger side (see pictures below). The damage was very minimal and I am still unclear as to why the insurance company totaled the vehicle out. With that being said, I did purchase this vehicle with a SALVAGE title, but I have had the vehicle fully inspected in accordance with Indiana state law and the Scion now carries a REBUILT Indiana title. The winning bidder will have no hassels when taking the title in to the BMV. I have completed all necessary paperwork.

The parts that were replaced were both fenders, hood, and front bumper. Also, the collision this car was involved in did manage to deploy the driver side wheel, and driver side knee air bag. Both bags have been replaced and inspected as well. Everything was replaced professionally and is back to its origional condition.  All other air bags were not damaged or deployed in the accident. I did take the Scion to a local repair shop to have the frame inspected for any type of stress or bends. The frame was not damaged in any way. As far as a warranty goes, I'm not sure. I bought a 2010 GMC Terrain for my wife and restored that with a rebuilt title. We took it to the dealer and it was still covered under warranty.

I have personally drove this Scion and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way it drives and handles. I have put a little over 200 miles on the car and love the way it drives. For a 4 cylinder motor, this car is pretty quick and sounds very sporty. This car is excellent on gas which gets over 30 MPG. Another great thing about this car is that it only has 4,300 miles. For as nice of a vehicle this is with that low of miles, the asking price is more than a bargain. The  Scion also has a very big sun roof. It works perfectly and practically takes up the whole roof. There is an AUX port on the driver side which is great for anyone who wants to play music from their phone or any other device. With the car comes two keyless entry remotes and an additional spare. All origional paperwork from when this car was bought is still in the glove box as well as warranty information etc.  The buyer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements, but I am willing to work something out if the winning bidder lives within a reasonable distance.

There will not be a better deal like this on the Internet. This car with a clean title retails for over $21,000. Obviously, due to the rebuilt title this car carries I am not looking to get anywhere close to that price, but I am not going to just give this car away. No one will be dissapointed with this car. It looks great, drives amazing, and has incredibly low miles. This car is sold AS IS.

Don't miss out on this great deal. This car would be a great gift, or all around personal vehicle for anyone. Please bid with confidence and know you are buying a great car. You will not be dissapointed.

Please bid seriously.  Upon auction close I would like a deposit of $250.00 to my Paypal within 24 hours. I reserve the right to refuse any bid. I am not a dealer, so please feel free to call me at any time if you have any questions about the car. My name is Evan Zimmerman and you can reach me at 260-223-1195. I am willing to listen to any offers anyone has, but please be reasonable. I will not trade so please do not attempt.

Thank you for looking at my page. Happy bidding and good luck!

Toyota GT86 engineer Tada recounts how sports car came to be

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"

2014 Scion tC

Wed, 14 May 2014

Once upon a time, the Scion brand sought to bring more youthful buyers into the Toyota stable. In the early 2000s, Scion launched with its plucky xA and xB hatchbacks, and a lot of people bought into its affordable, customizable, funky lineup - myself included. I was once the proud owner of a 2006 xB, and though the box-on-wheels wasn't really a proper enthusiast machine by any means, I loved its unique driving dynamics, clever packaging and fresh style.
Following those two hatches, Scion released its tC coupe - a modestly sporty little thing that stayed true to the brand's core values of being affordable, neat-looking and endlessly customizable. People really dug the first-generation tC, and with good reason - it offered a bit more personality than a comparable Honda Civic Coupe, effectively the only other two-door compact then on the market from Japan. And for folks who wanted a sporty, low-cost two-door, the tC was a pretty decent buy.
But then Scion changed. The xA was killed and the comparatively frumpy xD bowed as its replacement. The xB was totally renewed, but it got bigger, heavier and less attractive in the process. And then after a few years of standing idle (will we ever see xD/xB replacements?), Toyota birthed the Scion FR-S - a properly sporty, enthusiast-minded rear-drive coupe created with the help of Subaru. I really dig the FR-S - if I had to buy something from the Toyota/Lexus/Scion stable, it's easily the car I'd want. But by offering a properly good two-door package with its new coupe, where has that left the older, front-drive tC?

Customize a Scion, make it out of paper [w/video]

Fri, 14 Dec 2012

Shin Tanaka is a "Japanese artist, graffiti writer, paper toy creator, designer" with Kennedy Center credentials - his Paper Shaper sneakers are especially popular. Scion has done a DIY collaboration with Tanaka that can get you every one of Scion's five models as a Paper Shaper.
There are two ways to get in on the auto origami, the first being to stop by the Scion booth if you happen by one of the coming season's auto shows. Since that's a lot of work and waiting to acquire a perforated sheet of paper, you can also download the Scion Paper Shaper app from iTunes. In the app you can customize your model, complete with custom paper sneakers on the custom paper base, then print it out and build it yourself.
If you have any more questions, well, the video and photos below will put it all together for you.
