We are selling my wife's sporty scion TC. The car has mostly been driven on the highway due to commuting from home to work. We have had routine oil changes and tire rotations every 3000 miles. The car has been an excellent and reliable vehicle for my wife, as we have not experienced any mechanical or electrical issues to date. This would make for a wonderful first car or for anyone looking for a reliable, well maintained, gas friendly, sporty vehicle. The exterior color is Azure Pearl, which is very light silvery blue color. The interior is composed of black leather seats and trim. There is also a rear lip spoiler. Panoramic sun roofs. Brand new tires. Pioneer audio system. Cruise control. Outside temp display. Keyless entry (2 keys). Bucket driver and passenger seats. Blinker indicator lights to both side view mirrors. The car has been maintained in a smoke-free environment. The back seats and passenger seat are unremarkable. There is minor wear to the drivers' upper seat on the edge due to getting in and out of the vehicle. The back seats fold forward easily and opens up a lot of room to haul larger items. To date, we have not experienced any mechanical problems. No dents to the exterior are noted, however there is one small scratch to the drivers' side and one small scratch to the bumper (approx. 1/2 inch). The paint has not chipped to the areas. The vehicle was purchased from a woman who had the car custom made for her by Toyota with all of the additional features that she wished for, which includes the optional OBX gas and break pedals and OBX gear shift. We have driven the vehicle with care and have thoroughly enjoyed this car. We are selling our Scion due to purchasing a larger vehicle to suit our family. We are happy to answer any additional questions. Title in hand and ready to sell!

Toyota preparing Scion-badged Nissan Juke fighter
Thu, Aug 20 2015As we've said on multiple occasions, the sub-compact crossover market is The Next Big Thing™. With that in mind, Toyota's lack of a competitor to the new breed of super-small, super-cute crossovers like the Nissan Juke, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, and Jeep Renegade has been especially glaring. But as these photos show, the hole in the Japanese giant's lineup could soon be filled. Our spies captured this heavily disguised prototype testing in the deserts of the American southwest, signaling that Toyota is preparing to wade into the Nissan Juke's space by offering a tiny, but very heavily styled crossover of its own. Our spy photographers call the cute ute's look "aggressive," citing inspiration from the Toyota C-HR concept from the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Based on the meaty wheels and tires and what we can see through the camo, we're inclined to agree with their assessment. Underneath that sheet metal, we're told the new car rides on Toyota's new NGA platform. Like the Juke, a four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission will be on offer, although there's no telling whether Toyota will follow its rival's enthusiast beat and offer a six-speed manual version. What we find most interesting about all of this conjecture, though, is what it means for Scion, rather than its parent. Introducing a small crossover is the next logical step for Toyota's troubled sub-brand, and would serve as a delectable followup to the recently released iA sedan and iM hatch. Such a three-model lineup, when combined with the enthusiast-oriented FR-S, would transform Scion into a force to be reckoned with in the entry level space. Supporting this conjecture isn't too hard, either. As the spy photos show, this camo'd tester is being supported by a xB, the closest thing Scion (or its parent company, for that matter) have to a sub-compact CUV. It's unclear just when this new model will make its debut, but if Toyota hopes to make inroads into this popular new segment, this CUV will need to arrive before its extremely competent rivals can establish a solid foothold. Scion teases mysterious sporty iM concept for LA show
Wed, 22 Oct 2014Thoroughly cleansed of our time at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, we can now start looking forward to the next big show on the circuit (with all due respect to SEMA), the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. One of the earliest new cars slated for LA is this, the Scion iM Concept.
Now, these teaser images don't show us terribly much. We can see the headlights, foglights and wheels. The little information we can glean indicates that, based on the short hood and minimal space between the front door and front axle, the iM will be a very small vehicle. That said, a very low ride height (and Scion's own press release) claims this will be a rather sporty offering. The concept's nose and grille, meanwhile, bears some resemblance to Toyota's most recent stylings.
We'll have more when the iM Concept debuts in LA on November 19. Until then, check out the pair of teasers and the official press release, available below.
J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
